STRAIGHT FROM THE PB OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Yesterday, our Barangay Treasurer received the ₱200,000.00 cheque at the Provincial Treasurer’s Office under the meaningful program “Sa Bawat Barangay, Makikinabang.”

We extend our sincerest gratitude to our beloved President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for this valuable assistance to our barangay and our community.

The ₱100,000.00 EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM will provide assistance to five (5) deserving fourth-year college students from our barangay to help support their studies and educational needs. The selection of the five (5) beneficiaries shall be undertaken by the Barangay Committee on Education, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Office of the President and applicable DILG Memoranda and existing government rules and regulations. The remaining ₱100,000.00 will be allocated for Barangay project that will directly benefit our community.

The ₱200,000.00 assistance will be deposited into the official barangay account, and its utilization will be undertaken in accordance with applicable government rules and regulations. The Sangguniang Barangay will ENACT the necessary Appropriation Ordinance to authorize the proper utilization of the funds for their identified purposes.

Our heartfelt thanks to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Congressman and Majority Floor Leader Sandro Marcos, Governor Hon. Cecilia Araneta-Marcos, and Vice Governor Matthew Manotoc for your continued support and commitment to our barangay.

Your generosity and assistance will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and contribute to the continued development and progress of our community.

The session was presided over by Punong Barangay Hon. Jimuel C. Palima, with the opening prayer led by Kagawad Tantin Benemerito.

Business of the Day

The Sangguniang Barangay Draft Appropriation Ordinance No. 01, Series of 2026, entitled:

"An Ordinance Authorizing Supplemental Budget No. 1, Series of 2026, Involving the Appropriation of Five Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand Four Hundred Fifty-Six Pesos and Forty-Nine Centavos (₱529,456.49) for the Operation of the Sangguniang Barangay of Pasaleng, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte for Fiscal Year 2026." sponsored by Hon. Jamaica Rose S. Tapia, Chairperson Committee on Finance and Appropriation .

During the deliberation, Hon. Jamaica Tapia, Chairperson of the Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriations, defended the proposed measure before the body. She emphasized that the supplemental budget would appropriate available 2025 savings to finance priority programs, projects, and activities of the Barangay Government, including the procurement of learning tables & chairs for the Pasaleng Child Development Center, supplemental assistance for Senior Citizens, Health Services and other essential expenditures consistent with the approved Annual Investment Program (AIP) for Fiscal Year 2026.

With its approval on second reading, the ordinance was formally approved by the Sangguniang Barangay, ensuring the timely implementation of priority programs and the prudent utilization of public funds to strengthen basic service delivery and promote the welfare of the residents of Barangay Pasaleng.

Week 30 | July 26 – August 1, 2026

The residents of Barangay Pasaleng actively participated in the Barangay Kalinisan Day through a Coastal Clean-Up Drive, demonstrating their commitment to protecting our shoreline and preserving the beauty of our coastal environment.

Together, volunteers collected scattered waste and marine debris along the coast, helping keep our beaches clean and reducing pollution that threatens marine life. This activity reflects the community's shared responsibility in promoting environmental protection and fostering a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Barangay Pasaleng.
