INSPECTOR GENERAL, FC,PA PAYS A COURTESY VISIT TO COMMANDANT SSS

COL RICHE JAY A BISCO FS (GSC) PA, School Commandant warmly welcomed COL RAYMUND R MARCOS MNSA (FS) PA, Chief, Inspector General, Finance Center, Philippine Army, during his courtesy visit today.

The visit provided an opportunity for a brief exchange of insights and professional perspectives among Finance Service (FS) officers, particularly on the continuing development of the Financial Management Manual on Financial Management Operations and other initiatives aimed at strengthening financial management practices within the Philippine Army.

Also present during the visit were MAJ IVAN KEANE G CAGALITAN (FS) PA, Acting Chief, Financial Records Branch and MAJ FRANCIS ANGELO S VINUYA (FS) PA, Chief, Admin Branch of the said unit who serve as the resource person during the consultative session.

The informal engagement underscored the value of collaboration and shared experience among members of the Finance Service. Beyond policies, systems, and procedures, the continuous development of the Financial Management Manual and related professional references serves as an important foundation in shaping competent, adaptive, and mission-oriented Finance Service officers.

As the Army continues to evolve, so does the role of the Finance Service—strengthening its systems, developing its people, and building a career that upholds professionalism, integrity, accountability, and excellence in military financial management.

ANNUAL MARKSMANSHIP TRAINING: HONING THE WARRIOR SKILLS OF SOLDIER SUPPORT PERSONNEL

The Soldier Support School, led by its Commandant, COL RICHE JAY A BISCO FS (GSC), PA, conducted its Annual Marksmanship Training for Officers and Enlisted Personnel, through the Marksmanship Training Center, TSG, ETC, PA, featuring both rifle and pistol courses at Range 1, Fort Magsaysay, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija from 24-29 August 2026.

The training provided an opportunity for personnel to further sharpen their accuracy, discipline, and confidence in handling their individual weapons. More than a routine proficiency activity, the training reaffirmed that personnel of the Adjutant General’s Service (AGS) and Finance Service continue to uphold the core competencies of soldiery—particularly marksmanship, a fundamental skill every Soldier must possess.

The successful completion of the training demonstrated the high level of proficiency and preparedness of the School’s personnel, with all participants attaining expert qualification.

The Soldier Support School remains committed to developing well-rounded, disciplined, and mission-ready Soldiers—capable of providing essential support while maintaining the warrior skills expected of every member of the Philippine Army.

The Soldier Support School, Individual Training Group, Education and Training Command, Philippine Army proudly congratulates TSg Alvin S Jose 854087 (AGS) PA, First Sergeant of the Soldier Support School, on receiving the Expert Skill Award during the First Sergeant Course Class 02-2026, 2nd Training Period CY 2026.

TSg Jose attained Superior and Expert level skill ratings in all skill-based objectives among the 37 students of the course—an achievement that reflects his dedication, competence, and commitment to excellence as a non-commissioned officer.

CHIEF ENGINEER, PA VISITS SSS

IN PHOTOS// COL ROGER A ALEJANDRINO GSC (CE) PA, Chief Engineer, Philippine Army, conducted a visit to this School led by COL RICHE JAY A BISCO FS (GSC), PA, School Commandant, on 24 August 2026.

The visit focused on the inspection of the School’s facilities, assessment of facility readiness, and identification of areas for facility enhancement and improvement. The activity underscored the importance of maintaining safe, functional, and mission-ready facilities in support of the School’s training and administrative requirements.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss initiatives aimed at strengthening the School’s infrastructure and ensuring that its facilities remain responsive to the needs of its personnel, students, and stakeholders.

SSS HOLDS CLOSING CEREMONY FOR 2ND TRAINING PERIOD CY 2026.

The Soldier Support School (SSS), Education Training Command, Philippine Army, successfully conducted Closing Ceremony for the 2nd Training Period, Calendar Year 2026, on 21 August 2026 at the Installation Management Battalion, Multipurpose Hall, Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.

The ceremony recognized the successful completion of the following career courses:
• AGS Office Basic Course Class 12-2026
• Finance Service Officer Basic Course Class 12-2026
• AGSNCO Advance Course Classes 60 and 61-2026
• Finance Service NCO Advance Course Classes 56 and 57-2026
• Finance Service NCO Basic Course Class 92-2026

The activity was graced by COL NAPOLEON G AGONCILLO JR MNSA (INF) PA, Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training, G8, Philippine Army, as Guest of Honor and Speaker.

In his message, COL AGONCILLO congratulated the graduates and emphasized that the true measure of their training goes beyond certificates, badges, and classroom learning. He challenged them to translate their knowledge and skills into meaningful contributions to their respective units, emphasizing the importance of competence, sound judgment, integrity, and commitment to service.

“To return better” and to make their respective offices and units better are among the standards by which the graduates should measure the value of their training.

The ceremony serves not only as a celebration of achievement but also as a reminder that with greater knowledge and competence comes greater responsibility. As members of the administrative and financial arms of the Philippine Army, the graduates are expected to provide dependable support to soldiers, commanders, and units in the accomplishment of the Army’s mission.

Meanwhile, COL RICHE JAY A BISCO FS (GSC) PA, Commandant, Soldier Support School, recognized the dedication and perseverance of the graduates, as well as the valuable efforts of the faculty and staff who guided them throughout their training. He likewise expressed appreciation to the families of the students for their unwavering support, understanding, and sacrifices that contributed to the graduates’ success.

🙏 BACCALAUREATE MASS | 2ND TRAINING PERIOD, CY 2026 🙏

As the students of the 2nd Training Period, Calendar Year 2026 approach another significant milestone in their training, they gathered in prayer and thanksgiving through the Baccalaureate Mass.

The activity was led by COL RICHE JAY A BISCO FS (GSC) PA, Commandant, Soldier Support School, and COL JOHN JOTHAM G REPOLLO NC (GSC), Commandant, Health Service School, together with the dedicated faculty members and training staff who continue to guide, mentor, and support the students throughout their journey.

The Baccalaureate Mass provided the students an opportunity to pause, reflect, give thanks, and seek God’s guidance, strength, and wisdom as they prepare to complete their respective training.

More than an academic or professional milestone, this celebration reminds us that true success is anchored in faith, character, discipline, leadership, and service. The values gained during training will serve as a strong foundation as the students assume greater responsibilities in their respective assignments.

As they move closer to graduation, may they continue to carry the spirit of faith, excellence, camaraderie, and selfless service—not only as trained professionals, but as individuals committed to serving their fellowmen and the nation.

🩸 A Drop of Blood, A Gift of Life. ❤️

Our students the AGSOBC CL 12-2026, FSOBC CL 12-2026, AGSNCOAC CL 60-2026, AGSNCOAC CL 61-2026 and FSNCOAC CL 56-2026 for 2nd Training Period Calendar Year 2026 showed that learning goes beyond the classroom. Through their participation in the Mass Blood Donation Activity on 19 August 2026 at Fort Magsaysay Training Area, conducted in coordination with the Victorianо Luna General Hospital (VLGH), Medical Center Armed Forces of the Philippines and Health Service School, Individual Training Group, Education and Training Command, Philippine Army they demonstrated compassion, selflessness, and commitment to serving others.

The activity was coordinated to maximize blood collection from students who are set to graduate this August, with the Individual Training Group, Education and Training Command, Philippine Army supporting the initiative. Conducted simultaneously across the different Sustainment schools, the activity reflects the spirit of bayanihan and service to those in need.

Every drop donated is a message of hope to patients admitted to the hospital. Truly, our students are not only being prepared to become competent professionals—they are also being shaped into responsible, caring, and service-oriented individuals.

COMBINED ARMS PLANNING EXERCISE: SUSTAINING THE FORCE, SUPPORTING THE MISSION

Our students recently participated in a Combined Arms Planning Exercise (CAPEX) that provided them an opportunity to apply the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) in a realistic operational setting.

The exercise allowed the students to work through the different stages of MDMP— More importantly, the activity highlighted that successful military operations are not achieved by combat elements alone. Sustainment plays a critical role in keeping the force ready and capable of accomplishing its mission.

As part of the planning process, the students of AGSOBC CL 12-2026, FSOBC CL 12-2026, AGSNCOAC CL 60-2026, AGSNCOAC CL 61-2026 and FSNCOAC CL 56-2026 considered the important contributions of the Adjutant General Service (AGS) and Finance Service (FS) to sustainment operations.

The Adjutant General Service provides essential personnel support through personnel accountability, strength management, replacement and casualty operations, records management, and other personnel services that help maintain the readiness and welfare of the force.

The Finance Service, on the other hand, provides critical financial management and resource support, ensuring that funds and financial requirements are properly managed to support the continuity and effectiveness of military operations.

The exercise reminded our students that every capability has a role in mission success. While combat forces conduct operations, sustainment elements ensure that personnel, resources, and essential services are available when and where they are needed. Through CAPEX, our students strengthened not only their understanding of military planning but also their appreciation of coordination, synchronization, teamwork, and the importance of sustainment in maintaining operational readiness.

A well-planned operation is only as strong as its ability to sustain the force.

Effective planning brings capabilities together. Effective sustainment keeps the force in the fight.
