| INFORMATION OFFICER III (COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER)
Place of Assignment: JP Laurel St., Malacañan Palace Complex, San Miguel, Manila
Duties and Responsibilities
General Functions:
Under the general supervision of the CAIRMD Chief, the Information Officer III (IO III) – Communications Officer shall contribute in the creation and development of engaging informative, and compelling content across various platforms utilized by PCW to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. As such, the IO III shall primarily focus on producing written materials that effectively communicate PCW messages, particularly related to media and communications support and advocacy services to both external and internal clients.
Primary Functions
Specifically, the Information Officer III will perform the following functions:
1. Prepare, package, and post or disseminate content for media releases (e.g. activity-based press release, press statement, feature article, etc.);
2. Contribute in the script development for the PCW’s corporate video;
3. Contribute in the development of PCW core messages on specific issues/ topics that will be identified in collaboration with other PCW divisions;
4. Prepare press kits, papers, and other materials for dissemination to mass media;
5. Assist in creating well-crafted, original and high-quality content for various platforms, including online content, IEC materials, and social media posts;
6. Edit and proofread media and other online content to ensure accuracy, clarity and consistency in Grammar, spelling, and punctuation;
7. Contribute in monitoring relevant news trends in mainstream, social and emerging forms of media;
8. Recommend strategies that can be adopted and implemented by PCW to maximize these for public advocacy;
9. Flag priority issues/news generated from media monitoring;
10. Prepare regular monitoring of news articles regarding PCW, women, and gender and development.
Auxiliary Functions:
1. Provide media and communications support services such as photo and video documentation, Presentation graphics and illustrations, and other collaterals;
2. Assist in developing talking points for speeches of PCW officials, when necessary;
3. Perform such other tasks relevant to PCW’s public information and advocacy programs, as may be assigned by the supervisor.
