CSC Regional Office VIII joins the DOLE-led celebration of the 124th Labor Day celebration with the theme “Disenteng Trabaho Para sa Lahat: Iisang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-Samang Mararating,” last May 1, 4 and 5, 2026, all across the Region.

In partnership with other government agencies and local government units, CSC RO VIII and its Field Offices brought its frontline services directly to the public during these activities which aim to provide employment opportunities to jobseekers both in the government and private sector.

The offered services include information on government job vacancies, civil service examinations and special eligibilities, and schedules of trainings and other learning and development interventions.

The 124th Labor Day festivities highlighted the collaboration of government agencies and the private and commercial establishments in Eastern Visayas, reaffirming their commitment to support and promote the Region’s labor workforce.

The 124th Labor Day celebration was held at Tacloban City Convention Center, Samar Convention Center, Catbalogan City, Ormoc City Superdome, Eastern Samar Provincial Gym, Biliran Provincial Capitol, Naval, Biliran and Freedom Park in Catarman, Northern Samar.

𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣 | 𝗖𝗦𝗖 𝗥𝗢 𝗩𝗜𝗜𝗜 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗣𝗠𝗦 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿-𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲, 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿

The Civil Service Commission Regional Office VIII (CSC RO VIII) conducted the Seminar-Workshop on the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS) for the Municipal Government of San Jorge, Samar on 28-29 April 2026, at Baypark Hotel, Calbayog City.

The two-day activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of the local government officials and employees in implementing its agency’s SPMS, a key mechanism for aligning individual and office performance with organizational goals and public service outcomes.

Participants were guided through the core components of SPMS, including performance planning and commitment, monitoring and coaching, performance review and evaluation, and performance rewards and development planning. Workshops and interactive sessions allowed participants to apply concepts and enhance their understanding of effective performance management practices.

The seminar-workshop also emphasized the importance of accountability, results-based performance, and continuous improvement in delivering efficient and citizen-centered public service.
Through this initiative, CSC RO VIII continues to support local government units in building a high-performing and responsive workforce committed to excellence in public service.

NOTICE TO THE TRANSACTING PUBLIC

The Civil Service Commission Regional Office VIII will conduct the Digital Upskill and Reskill Session 101 cm Performance Monitoring and Coaching Documentation Workshop and the Briefing on Examination Administration for the 07 June 2026 Fire Officer Examination (FOE) and Penology Officer Examination (POE) on 07 May 2026 (Thursday) to be participated by all CSC RO VIII personnel.

Frontline services on said date will continue onsite with a skeleton workforce, and our personnel will remain available during working hours.

The Civil Service Commission Regional Office VIII successfully conducted the Security Awareness Seminar on 23 April 2026, aimed at enhancing the knowledge and vigilance of its personnel in safeguarding sensitive information, documents, and facilities.

The seminar gathered CSC RO VIII personnel, highlighting their critical role in maintaining security amid evolving risks such as unauthorized access, information mishandling, and emerging cyber threats. The activity emphasized that despite advancements in systems and technology, human awareness and responsibility remain the first line of defense in protecting government assets and classified information.

The seminar also underscored the importance of fostering a culture of accountability and vigilance, noting that security lapses often stem from simple oversights or lack of awareness. In line with this, CSC RO VIII emphasized the need to educate personnel, promote responsible handling of information, and identify individuals who can take on greater roles in security management.

Through initiatives like this, CSC RO VIII continues to champion a more secure, resilient, and responsive government workforce in the region.
