𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐆 𝐏𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐍 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐒 𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐏: 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄

DILG Palompon actively participated in the 2-Day Capability-Building Seminar on Work Ethics and Employees Benefits (SWEEP) together with the employees of the LGU of Palompon spearheaded by the LGU Palompon – Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) held on September 30-October 1, 2026, at the 2nd Floor, NGCP Hall, Palompon Town Hall, Palompon, Leyte.

The seminar aimed to strengthen public service by promoting integrity, professionalism, and accountability in the workplace. It also provided participants with practical knowledge on ethical standards, proper workplace conduct, and government employee benefits to help them perform their duties responsibly and effectively.

The interactive two-day seminar was personally led by Director II Michael M. dela Cruz of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Ormoc Satellite Office who shared valuable knowledge and experiences in the subject matter.

Adding support to the activity, Vice Mayor Javes Keith R. De La Calzada delivered a message emphasizing the importance of work ethics in public service. Also gracing the activity was Hon. Vanessa N. Avenido, Sangguniang Bayan Member.

The seminar concluded with a renewed commitment to ethical public service, and better understand their rights and responsibilities as public servants serving the people of Palompon.

In its last installment of the month-long series in observance of the 2026 National Peace Consciousness Month, LGU Palompon joined the peace and order, and public safety awareness webinar entitled "Nihilistic Violent Extremism" conducted by DILG Region 8 via Zoom and Facebook live on September 29, 2026.

The webinar focused on Nihilistic Violent Extremism (NVE), presented by PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group PCPT Vince Joshua P. Garcia. It provided participants with an understanding of NVE among the youth, youth-related violence, threats in schools, online radicalization, and other related concerns. The discussion also emphasized the importance of awareness and preventive measures in addressing these threats.

An interactive Open Forum followed, facilitated by PCOL Michael P. Palermo of PNP RO8, where participants were given the opportunity to raise concerns, ask questions, and share insights on NVE. He also emphasized the important role of law enforcement, LGUs, barangay officials, schools, parents, and communities in addressing threats and risks, as well as in promoting proper reporting and timely intervention.

The activity was attended by members of the LGU Palompon Peace and Order Committee (POC) – Palompon MDRRMO; Barangay Peace and Order Committees (BPOCs), local National Government Agencies (NGAs)-Palompon Municipal Fire Station and DILG Palompon; and other stakeholders.

DILG Palompon together with Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) conducted a Key Governance Joint Meeting entitled Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) Special Meeting cm Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Town Hall Session and Foreign Travel Authority (FTA) Orientation on September 24, 2026 at 2nd Floor, NGCP Hall, Palompon Town Hall, Palompon, Leyte.

El Nino LGU Palompon Situationer Report, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Project Proposals, Presentation of Brgy. Mabini Issues and Concerns and Interventions Matrix under RCSP Town Hall Session, and Orientation on the Delegation of Authority in the Issuance of Foreign Travel Authority to Local Officials and Employees were among discussed.

The meeting was presided by Mayor Mary Dominique A. Oñate as the chairman of the council, and were attended by the different LGU Officials and Department Heads, and Local NGAs.
