MBCFI has been privileged to play a key role in Tamaraw conservation by conducting vital research and working alongside communities to protect this endangered species. Through years of various efforts, we've gathered essential knowledge about the Tamaraws, helping shape conservation efforts that prioritize both science and local involvement.

Our work would not be possible without the support of the people of Mindoro and our conservation partners. Together, we can continue striving to ensure the Tamaraw's survival for future generations.

September 9-14, 2024 - MCWS-PAMO staff and a representative from LGU Paluan participated in a six-day workshop facilitated by BD Corridor Project, BMB, and BIOFIN. Supported by the Mindoro Biodiversity Corridor, this training equipped the team with the tools to develop a Protected Area Finance Plan (PAFP), vital for our protected areas' long-term sustainability.

The workshop covered critical topics such as identifying local laws for financial stability, budgeting for programs with appropriate funding sources, and applying the DPSIR framework to address challenges. Participants also gained valuable insights into budget projections and the role of Financial Needs Assessments (FNA) in shaping financial plans.

With the knowledge gained, the team is poised to strengthen the financial sustainability and management of MCWS.

The United Nations (UN) designated June 5 as World Environment Day (WED), to raise awareness of environmental issues and influence policies globally. In the Philippines, June is Environment Month under Proclamation No. 237, signed in 1988 by President Corazon Aquino.

This year's WED theme is "land restoration, desertification, and drought resistance," part of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030). The slogan is "Our land. Our future. We are ." The DENR’s Environment Month theme, "Our Environment. Our Future," highlights the link between environmental health and future generations, promoting actions like reducing plastic use, conserving water, planting trees, and supporting green initiatives.

𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏!

The Mindoro Biodiversity Corridor Project Management Unit (MBC-PMU) is looking for a Financial Analyst that will be stationed on PENRO Compound, Brgy. Payompon, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.

The Financial Analyst will focus on providing assistance in processing of finance related documents for the Project. Applications will be open until May 31, 2024.

For applicants who will pass the initial screening, a virtual interview and examination is scheduled on June 10, 2024.
