𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧: Postponement of the 2026 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week in Central Luzon

The continuing severe weather conditions and widespread flooding has affected major access roads and communities in Pampanga and Central Luzon. With heavy rainfall forecasted to continue over the next few days, the safety and well-being of our personnel, partners, guests, participants and community remain our utmost priority.

Considering the above, management has taken the necessary decision to postpone the 2026 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) in Central Luzon, originally scheduled for September 2–4, 2026.

Please take note that the new schedule would be October 26–28, 2026, on the same venues as previously announced.

Further details and updated schedules/program will be shared in the coming days.

We appeal for everybody’s patience, flexibility, and understanding during this challenging time.

🔎Our Keynote Speaker
𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗨. 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗝𝗿.
Secretary, Department of Science and Technology
He is a Filipino geologist and government official who serves as the Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). He held the post since 2022 and is known for his long career in public service, disaster risk reduction, and science and technology leadership.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of the Philippines Diliman, a Master of Science in Geological Sciences from the University of Illinois Chicago, and a PhD in Earth Sciences from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego.
Before becoming DOST Secretary, he served for many years in the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), where he rose through the ranks and became Director in 2003. He later served as PHIVOLCS Officer-in-Charge and as DOST Undersecretary for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation, before being appointed DOST Secretary in 2022.
