As part of its continuing commitment to fostering safer learning environments, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Pampanga conducted the Coordination Meeting with Barangay Tanods for Safer School Zones (Ligtas na Paaralan, Ligtas na Pamayanan) on July 28, 29, and 30 at the Lubao Gym and Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center, simultaneously.
The activity was led by the Provincial Government of Pampanga, in partnership with DILG Pampanga, and resource speakers from the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). This initiative reflects a whole-of-government approach to advancing school safety, promoting child protection, and strengthening community-based efforts to safeguard learners.
The intensive training reinforced the School Safety Initiative by strengthening preparedness, coordination, and emergency response mechanisms within designated school safety zones. Through enhanced collaboration among local government units, school administrators, law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders, the initiative advances a unified, proactive, and community-based approach to protecting learners and ensuring a swift, coordinated response to potential emergencies.
The initiative proves that school safety extends beyond the classroom. Through strong interagency and community partnerships, DILG Pampanga is building safer, resilient environments where students can thrive with peace of mind.
