𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪 | The Column Writing competition (English and Filipino) is in full swing as part of the Science Month celebration. There are 11 participants in the English category and 13 in the Filipino category, all writing their best pieces based on the theme: "Climaquest: Forecasting Wind Shifts, Charting Climate Futures."

As excitement builds, each contestant is thoughtfully crafting their work, hoping to leave a lasting impression as their entries are reviewed.

Be ready, because it's quiz bee time! 🧠🏆

📌Mechanics:

1. All students from Grades 7 to 11 are required to participate.

2. The Quiz Bee will focus on topics related to science and technology.

3. The activity will be facilitated by the students' science teachers and the SCIENCE/YES-O CLUB Officers.

4. Each class will conduct an elimination round, and only one (1) participant per section will proceed to the finals. The finals will be per grade level.

5. Quiz Bee Timeline:
Elimination Rounds:
September 16 - Classroom Level
September 19 - Grade Level

6. 50 questions will be prepared for the quiz bee, the one who will top the class will be the representative of their section. In case of tie, there will be a tie breaker question.

7. During the Finals, the facilitators will provide the materials.

Grade 7 - 10-Quartz
Grade 8 - 10-Bloodstone
Grade 9 - 10-Amethyst
Grade 10 - 10-Carnelian

SLOGAN MAKING CONTEST

"Speak through your advocay"

📌Mechanics :

1. All students from Grades 7 to 12 are encouraged to participate.

2. Students will create slogans that promote science and technology, aligning with the theme “CLIMAQUEST: Forecasting Wind Shifts, Charting Climate Futures” The slogan should be brief, meaningful, and memorable.

3. Prior to the competition proper, the science teacher will require the learners to each of their to make their slogan as part of their performance task.

4. The science teacher will choose the best output from each class and endorse it to the competition proper.

5. The event will be on September 18, 2024 at 1:00 P.M and will take place in the following rooms:

Grade 7: 10-QUARTZ
Grade 8: 10-BLOODSTONE
Grade 9: 10-CARNELIAN
Grade 10: 10-AMETHYST
Grade 11: TBA
Grade 12: TBA

6. Participants should bring their own materials like bond paper, ballpen, markers, and other coloring materials.
There will be 1 winner from each grade level.

7. The winners will be awarded and announced during the Science Month Culminating Activity on September 30, 2024.

📌Criteria:

Relevance to the Theme (40%)

The slogan clearly aligns with and reflects the theme “CLIMAQUEST: Forecasting Wind Shifts, Charting Climate Futures.”
It effectively addresses climate change, wind patterns, and future climate challenges.

Creativity and Originality (30%)

The slogan is unique and original.
It creatively presents the theme in an interesting and engaging way.

Clarity (15%)

The slogan is concise yet impactful.
The message is clearly communicated and easy to understand

Impact and Memorability (15%)

The slogan leaves a lasting impression on the audience.
It has a strong impact, making it easy to remember and share.

Category is: Trashion Eleganza!

Trash is here, trash is there, trash is everywhere! Why not turn it into something cool? Something awesome? Something slayable? Something FASHIONABLE!

Walk down the runway with the fiercest, kavouge, and slayable outfit made out of trash. Use your creativeness and talent, show us your charisma on the runway, walk with pride, confidence, and dapat PAKAK!

Racers, start your engines and may the best Candidate win!

📌Mechanics for Trashion Eleganza:

• Each section must have one candidate who'll represent the class.

• Each class should work together to create a clothing for the said runway.

• Clothing not made by the students will be disqualified.

• Students may use different types of recycled materials or any kinds of trash; they may also use fabrics but remember to focus using trash or recycled items.

• Each section must send their name of representative on September 20, 2024 to the Science Club President or Yes-O Club President; failure to do so will lead to disqualification.

• There will be two categories; Category A: in which Grade 7, Grade 8, and Grade 9 will compete with one another. Category B: Grade 10, Grade 11, and Grade 12 will compete with one another.

• Both categories will have the Top 3 and a People's Choice award

• The event will take place on September 30, 2024 at exactly 1 PM onwards.

📌Criteria for Trashion Eleganza:

•Creativity (30%)

Usage of trash in a creative and fashionable way. Candidates show the fashion prowess of their clothing through creativity.

•Uniqueness (20%)

Candidates should make a unique clothing to standout and be beautiful on stage.

•Confidence (15%)

A beautiful clothing must be worn with style, fashion, and confidence. What makes a model standout? Confidence itself; be who you are and let them know who's boss.

•Audience Impact (15%)

Crowd favourite should not be forgotten. A powerful clothing has a powerful impact on its audience and shows the prowess of fashion.

•Concept (20%)

The flow of one trash to another is one thing to take care of, making sure that each piece of trash is connected to one another to make an awesome and slayble concept.

VIDEO TRIVIA CONTEST

Think you know everything? Prove it in our video trivia contest!🧠🏆

📌Mechanics:

1. The activity is open to all sections of Pamplona National High School.

2. Each Video Trivia entry must consist of a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 5, including the production crew.

3. The video length must be between 3 to 5 minutes.

4. Videos must be submitted to our page, PNHS Science Club 2024-2025, before September 27.

5. Creative Video Editing is allowed to enhance clarity and presentation.

6. The top three group participants will be announced on September 30, 2024.

7. A panel of judges will evaluate the videos based on the following criteria:

Group participants must ensure their responses are factually accurate, free from errors, and demonstrate a strong understanding of the subject matter. Thorough research and precise details are essential to avoid mistakes and score high in this category.

Clarity (30%)
Responses should be clear and concise, with complex ideas broken down in a way that is easy to understand. Avoid unnecessary jargon or confusion. The flow of information should be logical and well-structured to ensure the audience fully grasps the explanation.

Engagement (10%)
Participants should make their presentations engaging by using tone, body language, and storytelling techniques.

Originality (20%)
Participants should approach their answers with creativity, presenting unique or innovative ways of understanding the trivia. Their approach should stand out from typical responses, offering a fresh perspective that adds depth or insight to the topic.

Creativity (10%)
The video should be creatively presented, using excellent editing techniques and clear organization. A well-edited video, with a smooth flow of ideas, enhances the presentation, making it visually appealing and easy to follow.
