In an unwavering commitment to elevate academic excellence and institutional processes, Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) sent three of its personnel: Raquel J. Edjec, HRMO Head; Grace C. Guanzon, Associate Professor II; and Jomarie Dave B. Java, Quality Assurance Officer II, to a pivotal โOnsite Seminar-Workshop on Outcomes-Based Quality Assurance: An Overview for New Accreditors, Internal Quality Assurance, and Non-Academic Personnel.โ This crucial three-day workshop, organized by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., was held from July 9โ11, 2025, at the Century Park Hotel in Malate, Manila.
This training wasnโt just any workshop; it was an in-depth exploration of how quality is measured based on outcomes and the processes behind it. With AACCUP set to implement its new accreditation instruments before the year ends, this served as the final opportunity for State Universities and Colleges like DNSC to gain a comprehensive understanding of these forthcoming changes.
The workshop equipped participants with essential skills to ensure the highest standards of quality. They delved into the core principles of Outcomes-Based Quality Assurance (OBQA) and the overall accreditation process. Attendees practiced using the Program Performance Profile (PPP) template and other tools for survey visits, streamlining data gathering and analysis. A significant portion of the training focused on identifying and validating appropriate evidence for various areas and indicators, emphasizing thorough preparation. The workshop also clarified the scoring system used to evaluate exhibits and evidence. Participants were trained in writing reports that clearly highlight strengths, identify Areas Needing Improvement (ANI), and offer actionable recommendations, all aligned with accreditation standards. Importantly, the workshop reinforced the professional and ethical responsibilities of both non-teaching personnel who prepare documentation and official accreditors, underscoring their crucial roles in the accreditation process.
DNSCโs active participation in this workshop reflects its steadfast commitment to maintaining excellence in education and institutional operations. The insights and practical skills gained are expected to further strengthen the Collegeโs internal quality assurance processes.
