The General Administrative Support and Services Organization (GASSO) successfully conducted its 2026 Onboarding and Planning Activity on June 3, 2026, at the GAD Conference Hall. The activity gathered current and former GASSO officers to strengthen organizational leadership, enhance governance practices, and formulate strategic directions for the organization.
The participants included Jomarie Dave B. Java (Secretary-General), Joena Marie A. Martinez (President), Engr. Joenabel A. Ganiera (Vice President), Ellen Jean A. Geolagon (Secretary), Maxiliane Marie M. Camino (Treasurer), Roselyn M. Aviso (Auditor), Amalia M. Caballero (Public Information Officer), Maricielo Paula E. Funa, Mariquit C. Alano, Raquel J. Also present was Ajenel Davin, GASSO Bookkeeper.
The activity commenced with an orientation for the newly elected officers, providing them with a deeper understanding of their duties, responsibilities, and organizational functions. Former officers shared valuable experiences and insights to assist the new leadership team in carrying out their respective roles effectively. A major portion of the activity focused on organizational concerns and pending matters. These deliberations aimed to strengthen organizational governance and improve the services provided to GASSO members.
The organizationโs financial standing was also presented by Treasurer Camino, providing participants with a clear understanding of the current financial status of GASSO. This was followed by a budget planning and financial allocation session led by President Martinez, during which officers identified priority programs, discussed resource requirements, and established strategic directions for the organization.
One of the highlights of the activity was the Workshop on Parliamentary Procedure facilitated by Jeremy B. Barnido, College Board Secretary. The session enhanced the officersโ knowledge of proper meeting conduct, parliamentary processes, and sound decision-making practices that are essential to effective organizational governance.
The activity concluded with the presentation of the organization's ways forward and closing remarks delivered by Vice President Engr. Ganiera. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to collaborative leadership, responsible governance, and the implementation of programs that will promote the welfare and professional development of non-teaching personnel.
Through this initiative, GASSO successfully aligned its goals and priorities for the year for a more responsive, transparent, and member-centered organization.
