LOOK | NFEM Celebrates 35 Years of Steadfast Service in Eastern Mindanao

The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM), Philippine Navy, celebrated its 35th Anniversary Dinner on September 3, 2026, held at the Multi-Purpose Covered Court, Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City.

The celebration also recognized excellence and teamwork through the awarding of the NFEM Best Sail Plan for 2026 and the winners of the NFEM Inter-Color Sportsfest 2026.

NFEM, PN's celebration was also graced by the presence of two significant leaders who have stood alongside the Command - the former Commander, NFEM, PN, RADM CONSTANCIO ARTURO M REYES JR PN and the former Deputy Commander, NFEM, PN, CAPT ARCHIBALD DINO C DELFIN PN(MNSA).

In his message, the Commander, Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (CNFEM), COMMO IRENEO D BATTUNG PN, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to NFEM's journey throughout the years. He emphasized that the Command's achievements are a testament to the collective dedication, unity, and commitment of its people.

With gratitude for the past and renewed commitment for the future, NFEM continues to sail forward in service to the people and the nation.

LOOK | NFEM Marks 35th Founding Anniversary with FOIC PN as Guest of Honor

The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM), Philippine Navy, marked its 35th Founding Anniversary with the presence of the Flag Officer in Command, Philippine Navy (FOIC PN), VADM JOSE MA. AMBROSIO Q. EZPELETA PN, as Guest of Honor and Speaker on September 2, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Covered Court, Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City.

Prior to the anniversary program, a blessing ceremony was held for the newly completed Bachelor Officers’ Quarters II and Senior Enlisted Personnel Quarters, reflecting the Philippine Navy’s continuing efforts to provide improved facilities and better living conditions for its personnel.

The celebration also recognized the exemplary performance and contributions of NFEM personnel, units, reservists, partners, and stakeholders through the presentation of various awards and citations. The recognition underscored their collective efforts in advancing the command’s mission and supporting maritime security and other naval operations in Eastern Mindanao.

VADM Ezpeleta’s presence carried added significance as the visit formed part of his official engagements prior to his retirement and marked his final visit to NFEM as FOIC PN. The occasion provided the command an opportunity to express its appreciation for his leadership, guidance, and steadfast support to NFEM throughout his tenure.

The 35th Founding Anniversary served not only as a celebration of NFEM’s three and a half decades of service, but also as a reaffirmation of its commitment to remain Ready, Disciplined, and United in safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests and serving the people of Eastern Mindanao.

PRE-ANNIVERSARY | NFEM Holds Thanksgiving Mass in Celebration of its 35th Founding Anniversary

The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM), Philippine Navy held a Thanksgiving Mass in celebration of its 35th Founding Anniversary at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel, Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City, on September 1, 2026.

The thanksgiving mass served as an opportunity for the Command to give thanks for the blessings, guidance, and accomplishments bestowed upon NFEM, PN throughout its 35 years of dedicated service to the nation.

As NFEM commemorates another milestone in its history, the Mass also offered a moment of reflection on the sacrifices and contributions of the men and women who have served and continue to serve the Command. Their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment have helped strengthen NFEM's role in safeguarding the maritime interests and promoting peace and security in Eastern Mindanao.

HONORING OUR HEROES | NFEM Participates in the Wreath-laying Ceremony in commemoration of the National Heroes’ Day

The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM), Philippine Navy, participated in the Wreath-Laying Ceremony in observance of National Heroes’ Day, held at Osmeña Park, Davao City, on August 31, 2026.

The Commander, NFEM, PN, Commodore Ireneo D. Battung PN, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor and Speaker, joining government officials, members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, government agencies, and private sectors in paying tribute to the courage, sacrifices, and enduring legacy of the nation's heroes.

The wreath-laying ceremony served as a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices made by those who came before us and whose unwavering dedication to the nation continues to inspire generations of Filipinos.

In his message, the Commander underscored that honoring the nation’s heroes goes beyond remembering the prominent names written in history. It is also about paying tribute to the countless unsung heroes who served quietly and selflessly, those who made the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield, and the men and women who continue to serve the nation with courage and dedication today.

Through the Command’s participation in this significant event, NFEM, PN reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the legacy of the nation's heroes and continuing its steadfast service to the Filipino people.

LOOK | NFEM Brings Cheer and Care to Children of St. Joseph Pag-Asa Homes and St. Therese Home Care Center

In line with its commitment to strengthen its partnership with local communities, the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, (NFEM) Philippine Navy, conducted a gift-giving activity at St. Joseph Pag-Asa Homes, Panabo City, on August 25, 2026, as part of its pre-anniversary activities.

The activity brought much-needed supplies to the children and youth of St. Therese Home Care and St. Joseph Pag-Asa Home, through the distribution of assorted items including school supplies, blankets, pillows, hygiene kits, and other essential goods.

Adding joy to the occasion, basketballs and volleyballs were also provided for the children and youth, encouraging them to engage in sports, recreation, and activities that foster camaraderie, teamwork, and healthy living.

More than the material assistance, the outreach reflected NFEM’s continuing commitment to its mandate of service beyond the seas, reaching out to communities and extending care to those in need.

The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM), Philippine Navy, received the Director, Office of the Safety Administration, Philippine Navy (OSA, PN), Captain Ryan A Tumanda PN(GSC), during his visit at the headquarters NFEM, PN, Naval Station Felix Apolianario, Panacan, Davao City, on August 24, 2026.

The visit marked the start of the conduct of the scheduled Command Safety Audit, which aims to assess the Command’s compliance with established safety policies, procedures, and standards, as well as identify areas for improvement in its overall safety management system.

The audit also provides an avenue to strengthen safety awareness and reinforce the importance of proactive risk management, hazard identification, and the implementation of appropriate safety measures in the conduct of naval operations and activities.

The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM), Philippine Navy, rendered Arrival Honors to the Inspector General, Philippine Navy, RADM EMILIO G. ORIO JR. PN, during his visit to Headquarters NFEM, Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City, on August 20, 2026.

The visit marked the culmination of the scheduled Annual General Inspection (AGI) of NFEM for Calendar Year 2026, an institutional assessment conducted to evaluate the Command’s overall performance, operational readiness, administration, resource management, and compliance with established Philippine Navy policies, regulations, and standards.

During the open forum, the Inspector General, Philippine Navy, commended NFEM for its operational readiness, sustained commitment to mission accomplishment, and adherence to established policies and standards. He likewise underscored the importance of continuously maintaining a high level of preparedness and professionalism in the performance of the Command’s mandate.

The successful completion of the AGI reflects NFEM’s continued commitment to excellence, accountability, and organizational readiness. The Command remains steadfast in upholding the highest standards of performance and professionalism in support of the Philippine Navy’s mission and in safeguarding the maritime interests of the nation in Eastern Mindanao.

The Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao, Philippine Navy (NFEM, PN) welcomed the official visit of the Commander, Medical Center, Armed Forces of the Philippines (MC-AFP), BGEN ERICKSON L. GOB, MC, at Headquarters NFEM, Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City, on August 15, 2026.

The visit commenced with Arrival Honors, reflecting the Philippine Navy’s tradition of military courtesy and respect for visiting senior leaders.
