Barangay Cal-litang Official page This place was part of Barrio De Pila long before it was annex to the Municipality of Tayug.

BARANGAY CAL-LITANG HISTORICAL PROFILE

Based on the account of prominent inhabitants who have found a place to settle in Barangay Cal-litang, the name Cal-litang was taken from the word “Callidan” an Ilocano dialect which means “Dimple”. According to its residents, visitors coming from adjacent municipalities were amazed to find that most of the women bear resembling characteristics in their per

sonalities having a dimple in their cheeks. In Ilocano dialect they call them “Callidan” and in the course of time as the place was settled by Ilocano families coming from Ilocos Region, the name Callidan became Cal-litang. When Santa Maria, Pangasinan was founded in January 10, 1855 it became one of the barangays of the municipality having an area of 323.19 hectares. The Primary source of livelihood of its residents is agriculture with to***co and rice as its products.
