Today, 16 April 2026, we donโt just witness a change of command โ we celebrate a legacy in motion.
We salute Captain Raymund D Macandili (ARM) PA, the outgoing Commanding Officer of the 42nd Mechanized Infantry (DAHUNOG) Company, whose tour of duty was defined by fire-tested leadership, unwavering dedication, and a heart that beats for both soldier and civilian alike.
Presided over by Lieutenant Colonel Eugene C Flores ARM (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of the 4th Mechanized Infantry (KALASAG) Battalion, this ceremony is more than a turnover. Itโs a torch-passing of excellence, purpose, and service โ now set to blaze even brighter as CPT Macandili steps up as the new Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Officer of the Battalion TRIAD Staff.
For two (2) years and one (1) month, CPT Macandiliโs stint as Company Commander never flickered. Through every mission, every challenge, he stood unshaken โ driven by love for country, duty, and people. A proud graduate of the Philippine Army Officer Candidate School under Officer Preparatory Course Class 68-2017 โCenturion Virtus, he didnโt just meet the standard; he raised it in every post he held.
His mantra?
_โLeadership is not just about commanding others, but about serving with humility and compassion. Itโs about empowering others to become leaders and creating a lasting impact on the community.
And he lived those words on the ground, every single day.
As Commander, he led from the front โ building brotherhood, demanding accountability, and teaching his troops that strength is also measured in empathy. Under his watch, the DAHUNOG Company soared with unmatched morale. He forged a unit that was disciplined yet united, tactically sharp yet morally grounded, feared in battle yet loved by communities.
He shaped soldiers into complete warriors: tough, smart, and principled. Integrity, teamwork, and mental resilience werenโt just posters on the wall โ they were habits he drilled into every trooper. He proved that real courage isnโt just pulling a trigger; itโs choosing to do whatโs right when no oneโs watching.
To his fellow Officers, he was the rock โ a mentor with calm under fire, strategic vision, and a rare gift for making people believe in themselves. To his men, he was family. Firm when needed, compassionate always, and human in every decision.
Yet with all his achievements, CPT Macandili stayed grounded. _โSuccess is never the work of one man,โ_ he always said โ and he meant it. Every victory of DAHUNOG was a victory of every Officer, Staff, and Enlisted Personnel who stood beside him.
He also gives his deepest gratitude to Lieutenant Colonel Eugene C Flores ARM (GSC) PA, whose mentorship and trust were instrumental in every milestone the company achieved.
And now, from the Executive Officer, Platoon Leaders, Company First Sergeant, down to every Dahunog trooper: Thank you, Sir!
Thank you for your mentorship that sharpened us, your trust that empowered us, and your leadership that protected us. Your courage set the bar. Your professionalism became our playbook. Your care for the troops โas your ownโ earned not just our respect, but our loyalty.
As you move to the Battalion TRIAD Staff as CMO Officer, Marawi hasnโt seen the last of your service. Youโre just shifting battlefields โ from leading troops in the field to winning hearts and minds for peace and development.
Once a Dahunog, always a Dahunog. Your legacy marches on.
From every soldier you led, trained, and inspired, your story is one of passion, discipline, humility, and servant leadership โ a legacy not only worn in uniform, but lived through action, character, and example. ๐ซก๐ต๐ญ
