LOOK | Coastal Security and Community Safety in Action!

On 02 August 2026, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Tagdangua conducted a Coastal Security Patrol (CSP) along the coastal areas of Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

As part of the patrol, the team distributed informational flyers on “Recreational Safety Tips” and “Paalala sa mga Mananagat” to local residents, beachgoers, and fisherfolk to promote maritime safety awareness.

This initiative underscores the Philippine Coast Guard’s commitment to preventing maritime incidents through proactive community engagement and continuous public education, especially during the ongoing Habagat (Southwest Monsoon) season, when rough seas and changing weather conditions pose increased risks to coastal communities and small fishing vessels.

Look: In celebration of its 1st Founding Anniversary, Coast Guard Sub-Station Tagdangua, led by ENS KISSER JADE B QUIRANTE PCG, Sub-Station Commander, together with personnel from Coast Guard Station Davao de Oro (CGS DDO) and Marine Environmental Protection Unit–Davao de Oro (MEPU-DDO), successfully conducted a Coastal Clean-Up Activity on 10 June 2026 at Purok 3, Limot, Barangay Tagdangua, Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

The activity was conducted as part of the Philippine Coast Guard's (PCG) iCARE Program and was actively participated in by local residents, beach resort owners, and the Barangay Local Government Unit headed by Hon. Jocelyn M. Gomez, Punong Barangay of Tagdangua.

Through the collective efforts of all participants, a total of 32 sacks of assorted waste, weighing approximately 40 kilograms, were collected along a one-kilometer stretch of coastline.

On the same day, CGSS Tagdangua personnel also participated in a Mangrove Planting Activity initiated by the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAGRO) and the Barangay Agricultural Extension Worker (BAEW), under the leadership of Mr. Ceremar Lleorna Marial, President of Barangay Laak Cluster 1.

A total of 500 mangrove propagules were planted across an approximately 50-meter coastal area in Purok 3, Limot, Barangay Tagdangua.

These meaningful activities reflect the unwavering commitment of CGSS Tagdangua and its partner agencies to environmental stewardship, community engagement, and the preservation of natural resources for future generations.

LOOK: On 05 June 2025, personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Tagdangua conducted a Joint Maritime Patrol Operation within the municipal waters of Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

The operation was carried out in coordination with the 2nd Company, Davao de Oro Provincial Police Mobile Force Company (2ND DDOPMFC) and the Pantukan Bantay Dagat, demonstrating a unified commitment to safeguarding the municipality’s maritime domain.

Through sustained maritime patrols and monitoring activities, the operation aims to deter and prevent illegal activities such as smuggling, illegal fishing, and other unlawful maritime practices.

CGSS Tagdangua remains committed to working closely with partner agencies and local stakeholders to ensure the safety, security, and protection of the maritime environment and coastal communities of Pantukan.
