Sta. Cruz National High School (SCNHS) proudly celebrates another academic milestone as it secures 3rd place in the Small School Category of the KS3 Phil-IRI (English) Top 5 Schools with the minimal number of learners under the โ€œFrustrationโ€ reading level in the Division of Bulacan.

This remarkable achievement reflects the schoolโ€™s unwavering commitment to improving learnersโ€™ reading proficiency and overall academic performance. The result signifies that SCNHS has effectively reduced the number of students who struggle significantly with reading in English, a key indicator of successful literacy interventions and targeted instructional strategies.

The recognition is a testament to the dedication and collaborative efforts of the schoolโ€™s administrators, English teachers, reading coordinators, and stakeholders who continuously implement programs aligned with the Phil-IRI framework. Through consistent monitoring, remediation activities, and learner-centered approaches, the school has created a supportive environment that fosters reading development among students.

Moreover, this accomplishment highlights the importance of early identification and intervention for learners experiencing reading difficulties. By addressing these challenges proactively, SCNHS ensures that students are given equal opportunities to succeed academically and build confidence in their literacy skills.

As SCNHS celebrates this success, the school community remains committed to sustaining and further enhancing its reading programs. With continued teamwork and innovation, the school aims to achieve even greater milestones in promoting literacy and excellence among its learners.

In the afternoon of March 30, 2026, Sta. Cruz National High School (SCNHS) successfully held its 11th Completion Rites, anchored on the theme โ€œFilipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character.โ€ The significant event gathered the Grade 10 completers from the schoolโ€™s three campusesโ€”Sta. Cruz, Masukol, and Binakodโ€”in a heartfelt celebration of their achievements and readiness to take the next step in their academic journey.

The ceremony opened with a solemn and dignified atmosphere, setting the tone for a momentous occasion that recognized not only the learnersโ€™ academic accomplishments but also their growth in character, resilience, and values. The presence of DepEd officials and local government leaders further elevated the event, as they delivered inspiring messages that encouraged the completers to remain steadfast in their dreams, embrace responsibility, and become active contributors to nation-building.

One of the highlights of the program was the formal completion rites, where learners proudly marked the culmination of their junior high school journey. This was followed by the recognition of outstanding students who excelled in academics and various special fields. Their achievements stood as a testament to their hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence, as well as the unwavering guidance of their teachers and the support of their families.

A truly memorable part of the ceremony was the inspiring message of the guest speaker and proud SCNHS alumnus, Mr. Juan Diego SJ. Cajanding. With sincerity and passion, he shared his personal experiences during his high school years and beyond, allowing the completers to relate to his journey. His words resonated deeply with the audience as he emphasized that success is not defined by perfection, but by growth and courage. He left the learners with powerful reminders: โ€œFailure is necessary,โ€ โ€œSeek discomfort,โ€ and โ€œPara magtagumpay, matuto kang magbigay.โ€ These words encouraged the completers to embrace challenges, step out of their comfort zones, and cultivate a spirit of generosity and service.

The program was further enriched by the heartfelt performances of the Grade 10 completers. Their rendition of โ€œSaranggolaโ€ by Ben&Ben symbolized their dreams, aspirations, and readiness to soar toward greater heights. The emotional tribute continued with the song โ€œSalamatโ€ by Yeng Constantino, dedicated to their parents and guardians. This touching performance expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifices, love, and unwavering support that helped them reach this important milestone.

As the ceremony drew to a close, a sense of pride and hope filled the venue. The 11th Completion Rites of SCNHS was not only a celebration of academic success but also a recognition of the learnersโ€™ journey of growth, perseverance, and transformation. It served as a reminder that these young completers are now equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to face future challenges and opportunities.

Their words of encouragement reminded the learners that success is a product of both talent and consistent effort.

A significant highlight of the event was the inspiring message of the guest speaker, Hon. Alex C. Bernardo, which was delivered through his son, Hon. Aaron Bernardo. In his message, Hon. Bernardo warmly congratulated the learners for their well-deserved achievements and recognized the sacrifices they made to reach their goals. He encouraged them to remain focused, continue pursuing excellence, and use their talents not only for personal success but also in service to others.

The ceremony became a proud moment for the entire SCNHS community, as parents, teachers, and stakeholders witnessed the fruits of the learnersโ€™ hard work and determination. Each award served as a symbol of perseverance and a reminder that success is attainable through dedication and strong character.

Indeed, the โ€œAraw ng Parangal at Pagkilalaโ€ was more than just a recognition programโ€”it was a celebration of excellence, a source of inspiration, and a reaffirmation of SCNHSโ€™s commitment to nurturing learners who are not only academically competent but also guided by values and a heart for service.
