Riding on a Date? There’s no denying that motorcycles are cool, fun, and fuel-efficient. But it’s also true that riding a motorcycle is riskier than driving a car. The reality is, a crash as a motorcyclist is almost 30 times more likely to be fatal than as a motorist. And although there is no official available data to back this claim, road safety advocates observed that rear passengers have larger number of fatalities compared to the rider specifically by head injury.

Driving responsibly is driving while looking out for both your safety and the safety of others. Living in a society so consumed with multi-tasking makes this challenging, especially since many people consider themselves driving experts when, in reality, they are not.

Being a safe and responsible driver takes a combination of knowledge, skill and attitude. To begin, you must know the traffic laws and driving practices that help traffic move safely. Breaking these “rules of the road” is the major cause of collisions.
But you need to do more than just obey the rules. You must care about the safety of others on the road. Everyone is responsible for avoiding collisions. Even if someone else does something wrong, you may be found responsible for a collision if you could have done something to avoid it.

Ang pamumuhay sa isang lipunang sobrang natutok sa multi-tasking ay ginagawa itong hamon, lalo na't itinuturing ng karamihan ang kanilang sarili na mga eksperto na sa pagmamaneho ngunit, sa katotohanan, hindi naman.

Ang pagiging ligtas at responsableng driver ay nangangailangan ng kumbinasyon ng kaalaman, kasanayan at tamang pag-uugali. Upang sa simula, dapat mo laging malaman ang mga batas trapiko at mga kasanayan sa pagmamaneho na tumutulong sa kaligtasan sa kumikilos na trapiko. Ang paglabag sa "mga patakaran ng kalsada" na ito ay ang pangunahing sanhi ng mga banggaan.
Ngunit kailangan mong gumawa ng higit pa sa pagsunod sa mga patakaran. Dapat mong alalahanin ang kaligtasan ng iba sa kalsada. Ang bawat isa ay may pananagutan sa pag-iwas sa mga banggaan. Kahit na iba ang gumawa ng mali, maaari kang mapatunayang responsable pa rin sa isang banggaan kung hindi ka gumawa ng paraan na maiwasan ito.

𝗟𝗧𝗢 𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗧𝗠𝗦 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is aiming for the full utilization of its Land Transport Management System (LTMS) by August this year, which will help fast-track the delivery of the agency’s different services for the benefit of the public.

During the deliberation by the Committee on Transportation at the House of Representatives, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Jayart Tugade reported that most of the services offered under the LTMS are already at 100%, particularly the Driver’s Licensing System’s (DLS), the renewal processing of Motor Vehicle Inspection & Registration System (MVIRS), the Law Enforcement & Traffic Adjudication System (LETAS), Revenue Collection System (RCS), Portal (front-facing application used by the general public), Online Application & Appointment System (OAAS), and Executive Information System (EIS).

He said the agency has issued a memorandum circular instructing the exclusive use of the LTMS for the renewal of the MVIRS to prevent the overlapping of systems. Also, settlement of traffic violations through the Law Enforcement Handheld Mobile Devices will be available by April 30, 2023.

With regard to the new registration module for the MVIRS, the LTO is pilot testing it in three new registration unit (NRU) sites and will be made available to all 51 sites in the country by July 30, 2023.

LTO Chief Tugade added that while there are several modules in the LTMS that are still being completed, the agency will make sure that its full utilization is done by August of this year. From there, the transactional data from the old system of Stradcom will be migrated to the Department of Information and Conmunications Technology and then transferred to the agency’s current provider Dermalog.

“Once this is complete, the old system will be removed and the LTO will only use the LTMS,” the LTO Chief stressed.

Tugade also made the assurance that “all regional directors are aligned with the agency’s mission” after being asked by the committee on the issue of some regional directors reportedly being uncooperative in the acceptance of the LTMS.
