The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is aiming for the full utilization of its Land Transport Management System (LTMS) by August this year, which will help fast-track the delivery of the agencyโs different services for the benefit of the public.
During the deliberation by the Committee on Transportation at the House of Representatives, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Jayart Tugade reported that most of the services offered under the LTMS are already at 100%, particularly the Driverโs Licensing Systemโs (DLS), the renewal processing of Motor Vehicle Inspection & Registration System (MVIRS), the Law Enforcement & Traffic Adjudication System (LETAS), Revenue Collection System (RCS), Portal (front-facing application used by the general public), Online Application & Appointment System (OAAS), and Executive Information System (EIS).
He said the agency has issued a memorandum circular instructing the exclusive use of the LTMS for the renewal of the MVIRS to prevent the overlapping of systems. Also, settlement of traffic violations through the Law Enforcement Handheld Mobile Devices will be available by April 30, 2023.
With regard to the new registration module for the MVIRS, the LTO is pilot testing it in three new registration unit (NRU) sites and will be made available to all 51 sites in the country by July 30, 2023.
LTO Chief Tugade added that while there are several modules in the LTMS that are still being completed, the agency will make sure that its full utilization is done by August of this year. From there, the transactional data from the old system of Stradcom will be migrated to the Department of Information and Conmunications Technology and then transferred to the agencyโs current provider Dermalog.
โOnce this is complete, the old system will be removed and the LTO will only use the LTMS,โ the LTO Chief stressed.
Tugade also made the assurance that โall regional directors are aligned with the agencyโs missionโ after being asked by the committee on the issue of some regional directors reportedly being uncooperative in the acceptance of the LTMS.
