Led by Municipal Tourism Officer Alkudzrey Ibrahim, the assembly focused on the comprehensive guidelines and Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) to ensure a fair, organized, and spectacular competition. Showing solidarity and strong leadership, FLBC Hon. Hja. Marlene Agbulos Loong and Municipal Mayor Hon. Habib Alkhadar T. Loong were in attendance to guide and inspire the working teams and candidates.

Reflecting a shared commitment to sustainable growth and community development, the Honorable Mayor Habib Alkhadar T. Loong, alongside First Lady and Poblacion Barangay Chairwoman Hon. Hja. Marlene Agbulos Loong, officially led the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Multi-Purpose Building. This state-of-the-art facility stands as a testament to the continuous progress driving both Poblacion and Parang forward.

This landmark infrastructure project represents a collaborative effort toward public service excellence. Key figures instrumental to the projectโ€™s design and implementation were in attendance, including Municipal Engineer Abelhadid O. Ulanghutan and Architect Jazpher Garcia, alongside Municipal PESO Ernasrine K. Guevara. The ceremony was further dignified by the presence of Former Councilor Hji. Led by, Chief Operating Officer of Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) Hon. Mark T. Lapid, DOT Usec. Myra Paz V. Abubakar, and Sulu Vice Governor Hon. Abdusakur M. Tan, this event marks a massive leap forward for our region.

Also in attendance were DOT-IX Regional Director Dara May Cataluna, Municipal Mayors, Provincial board members, the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP), and provincial employees.

Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Organization and Orientation Meeting

In compliance with Executive Order No. 70, Series of 2018, the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) organization and orientation meeting was successfully conducted at the Municipal Hall on May 28. The activity aligns with national directives to champion inclusive development and strengthen local leadership in addressing community-level issues.

The meeting was spearheaded by RCSP Chairman and Local Chief Executive Hon. Habib Alkhadar T. Loong, MLGOO Nermida M. Muksan, and MPDC Al-Sharidz S. Berick. Representatives from different line agencies and barangays were present to contribute insights and coordinate the ex*****on of upcoming local programs.Together, they facilitated a productive discussion revolving around the strategic scheduling of the Ugnayan sa Barangay and Serbisyo Caravans, as well as the enhancement of individual Barangay Development Plans (BDPs).

Ultimately, these measures seek to empower local communities to actively participate in local governance, creating a more resilient future for all residents.

MUNICIPAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING HELD AT THE MUNICIPAL HALL

PARANG, SULU | MAY 28, 2026

The Municipal Advisory Committee (MAC) Meeting was held today, May 28, 2026, at the Municipal Hall in Poblacion, Parang, Sulu, with the participation of partner agencies, local officials, and other stakeholders to discuss updates and ongoing activities under the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Present during the meeting were from DSWD led by Darwisa T. P**a - Jailani 4PS Provincial Link, barangay officials, RHU Parang, DepEd Parang, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), 41st IB Bravo Company, Parang MPS, and LGU officials.

The discussion focused on the current 4Ps caseload of Parang, CS3 household targets, households for project exit, beneficiary data management updates, households with and without cash cards, planned activities, and health and education compliance updates.

Hon. Mayor Habib Alkhadar T. Loong thanked all partner agencies and stakeholders for their continued support and cooperation in the implementation of the program. In the importance of unity of each agency for the better life of its people.

113 YOUTH GRADUATE FROM PAGPANGADJI SUMMER CAMP 2026

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Parang, under the leadership of Honorable Mayor Habib Alkhadar T. Loong, successfully concluded the Pagpangadji Summer Camp 2026 today at the Multipurpose Training Center in Barangay Alu Layag-Layag. The commencement ceremony marked the formal graduation (Pagtammat) of 113 young boys from the municipality.

The intensive summer camp focused on the foundational Islamic sciences, including Fiqh, Tawhid, Noorani Qaidah, and Tajwid. The successful initiative was sponsored by Hon. Mayor Habib Alkhadar T. Loong, in close partnership with Camp Director Maulana Al-mathar L. Tingkahan. PhD

During his inspirational address, Mayor Loong commended the graduates for their dedication to seeking continuous knowledge and emphasized that pagpangadji (learning) is vital to strengthening one's Iman (faith). He also expressed his profound gratitude to the spiritual leaders and educators who dedicated their time to nurturing the faith and character of the youth, namely: Maulana Al-mathar L. Tingkahan PhD., Maulana Ben-candao L. Tingkahan, Adzhar L. Tingkahan Al-hajj, Maulana Querzomar I. Maulaha, Ustadz Jubail A. Halim, Ustadz Abdulhabir N. Jubail, and Ustadz Moh. Rahsin S. Sappari. The event was also attended by Maohod A. Alih, special guest, Hji. Jurahman N. Asarud and Hji. Sahimagdar D. Tingkahan, elders.

Special recognition was also given to the kitchen and support staff whose behind-the-scenes dedication ensured the smooth daily operations and meal preparations for all participants throughout the camp.

Building on this success, Mayor Loong announced a progressive expansion for 2027: the inclusion of a dedicated summer camp for women to ensure inclusive access to religious education for all.

DOLE CONDUCTS TUPAD ORIENTATION IN PARANG, SULU

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted a TUPAD orientation for beneficiaries in the Municipality of Parang, Sulu.

The activity was attended by Municipal PESO Ms. Ernasrine K. Guevara, together with DOLE representatives led by Labor and Employment Officer I Ruhaifa V. Sasapan, and Labor and Employment Assistants Haymin P. Ainal, Refka G. Estino, and Bensar A. Jumala, along with the TUPAD beneficiaries.

The orientation focused on the program guidelines, requirements, and work arrangements under TUPAD. Beneficiaries were reminded to observe proper attendance and comply with assigned tasks throughout the program.

Hon. Mayor Habib Alkhadar T. Loong expressed appreciation to DOLE Sulu and DOLE Region IX for their continued support to the municipality through the TUPAD Program. He also reminded beneficiaries to perform their duties responsibly and acknowledged the support of the Municipal Statistician, Akmad Hashim "Chemmy" A. Alhabsi, and Municipal PESO Ms. Ernasrine K. Guevara, in the programโ€™s implementation.

The Local Government Unit of Parang continues to support employment programs that provide temporary assistance to its constituents.
