🌸🤱 National Breastfeeding Awareness Month Celebration & Launching of the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR SIA) 2026 💉❤️

The Municipality of Pasacao successfully celebrated the National Breastfeeding Awareness Month and officially launched the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR SIA)—a meaningful event that highlighted our commitment to protecting the health of mothers and children.

The first part of the program focused on promoting breastfeeding and maternal health through inspiring advocacy messages, a heartfelt breastfeeding testimony, and the conduct of Breast Cancer Screening and Cervical Cancer Screening, emphasizing the importance of empowering mothers to prioritize their health and well-being.

The second part of the program marked the official Launching of the MR SIA, highlighted by the Pledge of Commitment of our local leaders and stakeholders, followed by the actual vaccination of children aged 6–59 months to protect them against measles and rubella. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to achieving a healthier and safer community for every child.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our Barangay Captains, Barangay Kagawads, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), mothers, and all participants whose presence and active participation made this event a success.

Our deepest appreciation also goes to Ma'am Ysa Baesa Masakayan and Ma'am Liz Anne Doblon-Ramos, MLGOO IV, for your unwavering support and encouragement to our health and nutrition initiatives.

Together, let us continue to promote exclusive breastfeeding, protect our children through immunization, and build a healthier, stronger, and more resilient Pasacao.

Alamin ang mga maagang senyales ng gutom ni baby at pasusuhin siya sa oras na kailangan niya:
1️⃣ Hindi mapakali o panay ang galaw.
2️⃣ Binubuka ang bibig at ipinipihit ang ulo na tila naghahanap ng suso.
3️⃣ Inilalabas at ipinapasok ang dila.
4️⃣ Sinisipsip ang daliri, kamao, o kamay.
5️⃣ Umiiyak. (Huling senyales na ito ng gutom)

Tandaan: Mas madali ang pagpapasuso kapag maagap na natutugunan ang kanyang pangangailangan! Patuloy nating isinusulong at ng Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project o PMNP ang pagpapasuso bilang pundasyon ng malusog na simula para sa bawat sanggol ngayong !

Alam niyo ba na mayroong mga batas ang Pilipinas na layon ay protektahan, suportahan, at itaguyod ang kalidad ng pagpapasuso? 🤱

🙋🏽‍♀️Ang Philippine Milk Code o Executive Order No. 51, series of 1986 ay isinabatas para dito. IPINAGBABAWAL ng Philippine Milk Code ang promotion ng mga inumin at pagkain bilang pamalit sa gatas ng ina (breast milk substitutes), at mga bote at tsupon, lalo na kung ito ay:
👩🏻‍⚕️ manggagaling sa mga health workers gaya ng mga duktor, mga nars, at mga kumadrona
🏥 nagaganap sa mga health facility at tindahan, at
💻 sa iba’t ibang anyo ng media, kasama ang mga matatagpuan gamit ang internet.

🙋🏽‍♀️Ang Republic Act 10028 naman, o ang Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009 ay nagtataguyod ang pagpapasuso sa mga pribado at pampublikong lugar, pagpapatatag ng batas tungkol sa rooming-in at hindi paghihiwalay ng mga nanay at bagong silang na sanggol sa mga ospital, kung walang komplikasyon, para sila ay makapag-Unang Yakap at breastfeeding initiation sa unang oras ng buhay ng sanggol.

Sama-sama nating protektahan at suportahan ang breastfeeding para sa isang mas malusog na first 1,000 days ni Mommy at Baby. Patuloy natin isinusulong katuwang ang Philippine Multisectoral Nutrition Project o PMNP ang pagpapasuso bilang pundasyon ng malusog na simula para sa bawat sanggol ngayong !

Ano ang ibig sabihin ng exclusive breastfeeding?
👶 Mula pagsilang hanggang 6 na buwan, breastmilk lamang ang ibigay kay baby.

Huwag magbigay ng:
💧 Tubig, juice, milk formula, at breastmilk substitutes tulad ng am;
🥣 Solid food; at
💊 Bitamina o gamot na hindi nireseta ng doktor
