In line with the conduct of the 2026 Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections, the Election Gun Ban is now in effect.

Election Period: July 16, 2026 – September 29, 2026

During the election period, the bearing, carrying, or transporting of fi****ms and other deadly weapons is strictly prohibited, unless the person is authorized in writing by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), pursuant to Section 32 of Republic Act No. 7166.

To all airport passengers, visitors, and stakeholders:

Before traveling to BARMM, ensure that you comply with all applicable election regulations concerning fi****ms and deadly weapons. Unauthorized possession or transport of fi****ms during the election period may result in arrest and criminal prosecution.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. joined Secretary of the Interior and Local Government (SILG) Juanito Victor C. Remulla this morning in a press briefing at the PNP National Headquarters Lobby, Camp Crame, Quezon City, to provide facts and updates on the tragic shooting incident at a private school in Zamboanga City on August 18, 2026, which left two students dead, including a Child in Conflict with the Law (CICL).
The incident is a deeply unfortunate and painful event, particularly as young lives were involved. The PNP’s investigation remains ongoing, with all angles and circumstances being thoroughly examined to establish the complete facts surrounding the incident.
The PNP is also coordinating closely with school authorities and other concerned parties to validate information, secure relevant evidence, and determine what transpired before, during, and after the shooting.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) and World Citi Colleges (WCC) renewed their partnership through the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) on August 14, 2026, at the PNP Officers’ Star Lounge, Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame, Quezon City.
The activity was led by PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, PNP, together with PBGen Jaysen C. De Guzman, Acting Director for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM), and Ms. Mia Monica A. Bernabe, Vice President for Business Development and Operations of World Citi Colleges (WCC), highlighting the continued partnership between the PNP and the academic institution.
The renewed agreement provides educational opportunities, including scholarship grants and tuition discounts, for qualified active and retired PNP personnel, their dependents and extended beneficiaries, as well as personnel with Total Permanent Physical Disability and those killed in police operations.
