PASAY CITY โ€“ A 48 year old overseas Filipino worker (OFW) was arrested by joint operatives of the PNP Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) upon her arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on August 5, 2026.

The suspect arrived from Taipei, Taiwan aboard China Airlines Flight CI703 when she was intercepted by the Bureau of Immigration after an Alert List Order and an outstanding warrant of arrest were reflected in its system.

Following verification and coordination, personnel of NAIA Police Station 1 and CIDG NCR Field Unit served two standing Warrants of Arrest against the suspect for Violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 22 and Slight Physical Injuries, with corresponding bail recommended by the courts.

The suspect was informed of her constitutional rights and was subsequently turned over to the CIDG NCR Field Unit for documentation and proper disposition.

The 35-year-old female arriving passenger from Hanoi, Vietnam, was initially intercepted by the Bureau of Immigration after verification revealed an existing arrest warrant. Following coordination between the LCPO and MCIAPS, authorities executed the warrant in the airport's Arrival Area, Terminal 2.

The arrest was made pursuant to a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court in Davao City for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, in six criminal cases, with a recommended bail of โ‚ฑ48,000.

The suspect was informed of the nature of the arrest and apprised of her constitutional rights. The operation was documented using an Alternative Recording Device (ARD). She was subsequently turned over to Police Station 5, LCPO, for proper disposition.

Virac, Catanduanes โ€” A white bag discovered near Runway 06 of Virac Airport prompted an immediate security response after two high-explosive rifle grenades were found inside on August 3, 2026.

While conducting a topographic survey for the airportโ€™s runway extension, two surveyors found the bag. Recognizing the possible danger, they immediately informed airport security personnel, who then coordinated with the Virac Airport Police Station and the Regional Explosive Ordnance and Canine Unit 5.

Responding police personnel quickly secured and cordoned off the area and upon the arrival of the Provincial Explosive Ordnance and Canine Unit (PECU) Catanduanes, the Render Safe Procedure (RSP) was immediately carried out.

Using the pick-up and carry-away method, the two high-explosive rifle grenades were safely removed and transported to the PECU Office at the Catanduanes Police Provincial Office for proper disposition.
