The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Provincial Tourism Office of Catanduanes, officially launched the โ€œIsla Bisikleta - Happy Island Bikepacking Adventureโ€ in Catanduanes from July 18-20, 2026, under the Philippine Cyclo-Tourism (PCT) Program.

PCT promotes the Philippines as a premier cycling and active tourism destination by transforming cycling routes into immersive travel experiences.

This curated cycling experience took the riders to discover Catanduanes on two wheelsโ€”from the heritage and history of Bato Church, Bato Bridge, and the Shrine of the Holy Cross, to the coastal beauty of Sacahon Beach, East Coast Beach Resort, Puraran Beach, and the scenic landscapes of Binurong Point, Happy Island Marker, and Tampad Beach. ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ

TPB Domestic Promotions Department Sales Division Chief Cesar Villanueva, along with other stakeholdersโ€”Catanduanes Governor Patrick Alain Azanza and DOT Bicol Regional Director Herbie Aguasโ€”welcomed the cyclists before leading the tour in their cycling loop. The launch was also joined by National Bicycle Organization Philippines President Mr. Benedict Camara and Starbike and Maru Bikes Chief Executive Officer Mr. Nico Lee.

In his speech, RD Aguas emphasized that the launch of the Isla Bisikleta Cyclo Tour Package reflects the commitment of DOT and TPB in promoting sustainable and experiential tourism.
