🇵🇭 ONE AGAINST ALL 🥇

Standing alone, but carrying an entire nation with her.

Angela Bella Domingo, a Grade 6 student from Lycée Français de Manille, brought home the Gold Medal at the 2026 Turkic International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) Finals held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from July 2 to 6, 2026.

Angela became the only Filipino representative to compete in the international finals after numerous qualified Philippine delegates were unable to attend due to travel disruptions caused by regional security concerns and the lengthy Azerbaijani visa process.

Her journey began in the Philippine qualifying round, where Filipino students earned medal finishes and invitations to the international competition. Despite the challenges that prevented many participants from traveling, Angela completed all the requirements and represented the country on her own.

In Baku, she competed against 392 young mathematicians from 13 countries and emerged with the competition's highest distinction—a Gold Medal—adding another remarkable achievement to the Philippines' growing list of international mathematics successes.

Congratulations, Angela Bella Domingo, for proving that courage, determination, and excellence can carry the Philippine flag to the top of the world stage. 🇵🇭🏅

"I think I survive.. it was so tough.. I want to thank Caty for a great match, great sport. It's one of those matches that could really gone either way. I think it was really down to details a little bit of luck. Give her flowers, guys. It was really a great match."
