Bahay na Tisa was built in 1846, 179 years ago... it was built to be a home of the Tech family, currently in Bahay na Tisa is the 6th, 7th and 8th generation, direct decendants from Lorenzo Tech...
It is a home, not a horror house... not all old houses have ghosts... 🤭😄

What’s the difference?

Today is NATIONAL HEROES DAY (Araw ng mga Bayani), commemorated every last Monday of August. We trace this commemoration to the Cry of Pugadlawin in August 1896 which marked the start of the Philippine Revolution against Spain.

April 9 is DAY OF VALOR (Araw ng Kagitingan). This is rooted in the fall of Bataan and the surrender of the US-PH troops on 9 April 1942.

Different dates, same sentiment. Both commemorate the heroism and sacrifice of patriots who fought wars and revolutions so that we can enjoy peace and freedom.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our Lead Tour Guide, Bahay na Tisa's Official Spokesperson, and Main Researcher, our dearly beloved Angelo Rivera.

Bahay na Tisa will be nowhere near where we are today without the guidance and persistence of our friend and mentor.

Let us join his family in offering prayers and celebrating his life well-lived for the pursuit of knowledge.
