HAPPENING NOW: The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR), through its PAPAMAMARISAN Field Office (PFO), is currently distributing livelihood packages to 50 beneficiaries from Pateros during a turnover activity held at Pateros Elementary School.
The initiative is part of the continuing partnership between DOLE, Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), Local Government Unit of Pateros and its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) to strengthen employment opportunities and sustainable livelihood support through a whole-of-nation approach.
Under the program, each beneficiary received a carinderia livelihood package aimed at helping families establish or expand small food businesses as a source of sustainable income. The total value of the assistance distributed amounts to approximately Php 1,114,500.00.
The activity highlights the government’s continued commitment to providing sustainable livelihood opportunities for urban poor communities.
DOLE-NCR PFO OIC-Director Julita D. Mendoza, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer (LEO) Roberto M. Chavez Jr., Senior LEO Maureen Chloe De Guzman, representatives from the PCUP, and officials from the LGU and PESO of Pateros graced the event and expressed their support for programs that help beneficiaries improve their livelihood and achieve financial stability.
