Binigyang-diin ni GM Nick Torre sa idinaos na Quezon City Journalists Inc. Forum ang puspusang operasyon ng MMDA mula sa kahandaan ng ating mga pumping stations, paglalagay ng trash trap systems, hanggang sa tuluy-tuloy na paghahakot ng basura sa ating mga waterways para sa tag-ulan.

Pinaalala niya ang kahalagahan ng disiplina ng publiko sa tamang pagtatapon ng basura, gayundin ang mas pinaigting na inter-agency coordination sa mga LGUs para sa Drainage Master Plan.

Kasama rin sa mga naging panauhin sa forum sina Atty. Felicisimo Tenorio III (QC DPOS), Atty. Mark Dale Perral (QC Engineer), Ms. Peachy De Leon (QCDRRMO), Ms. Ana Solis (PAGASA), at Ms. Ochie Tolentino (EcoWaste Coalition).

𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has commenced the implementation of the Drainage Improvement along Marcos Highway, Pasig–Marikina–Cainta Section.

The project, which started on August 24, 2026, is expected to be completed within 330 calendar days.

It involves the construction of a 3.7-kilometer interceptor pipeline along Marcos Highway, extending from Halang Creek to the Marikina River.

The interceptor will utilize a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe with a minimum diameter of 1.5 meters, designed to accommodate up to 11 cubic meters per second of stormwater flow and withstand high hydraulic pressures during peak flow conditions.

As the drainage improvement project gets underway, motorists traveling toward Pasig, Marikina, Cainta, and Antipolo are advised to expect traffic congestion and possible delays in the affected areas.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their trips accordingly, allow additional travel time, and take alternate routes when possible.

The MMDA will continue to coordinate with concerned local government units to manage traffic flow and minimize the impact of the ongoing works on motorists and commuters.

Naging makabuluhan ang pagdalo ni GM Nick Torre sa ginanap na 2026 Annual Congress ng Liga ng mga Barangay - Province of Catanduanes.

Ibinida niya ang makabagong sistema at malawak na kapasidad ng MMDA Hotline 136. Binigyang-diin ni GM Torre na ang teknolohiya at epektibong komunikasyon ay napakahalagang sandata ng bawat barangay upang masiguro ang mabilis na pag-aksyon ng gobyerno sa oras ng pangangailangan.
