October 13, 2025 โ The Municipality of Pasil successfully held the 2025 Pasil Celebration of Indigenous Peoplesโ Month and the National Ugnayan 2025: IP Youth Conversation and Learning Exchange.
Mayor Silvestre Mosing warmly welcomed all the guests and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the LGU employees for preparing and organizing this meaningful celebration of indigenous identity and unity. He also commended the LGU officials, department heads, barangay officials, the IP community of Pasil, national government agencies, and the religious sector for their unwavering support and participation in the event.
The celebration gathered various Indigenous Peoples (IP) youth and visitors from across the Philippines, including representatives from Mindanao, Visayas, and Luzon. Each delegation proudly showcased their rich culture, dances, and traditions, highlighting the beauty and diversity of the nationโs indigenous heritage. The event served as a reminder of the importance of preserving and respecting each communityโs cultural identity.
The Municipality of Pasil warmly welcomed all delegates and esteemed guests. The Guest Speaker, Ms. Kristine Mae Sumalinab, Program Manager of the ASSISI Development Foundation, delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the importance of respect, mutual understanding, and the continuous promotion of indigenous culture and traditions. She expressed her gratitude for being part of the event and praised the Municipality of Pasil for its efforts in creating a platform that celebrates IP unity and youth empowerment.
Also in attendance was Dir. Angelo S. Sallidao from the NCIP Central Office, who extended his warm appreciation to the local government for its steadfast commitment to indigenous advocacy. Hon. James Edduba, Governor of Kalinga, likewise expressed his full support for the program, recognizing its role in strengthening the cultural identity and solidarity of the indigenous peoples in the province.
The event truly showcased Pasilโs dedication to preserving indigenous culture, promoting peace, and empowering the youthโa celebration of unity, identity, and pride for the entire Cordillera and the nation.
