Orientation on Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS)

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Passi City successfully conducted an Orientation on Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) for the 51 Barangay Captains and Barangay Secretaries of Passi City on August 14, 2026, held at the Barangay Sablogon Gymnasium, Passi City.

The orientation was conducted by Katherine Joy M. Lampera, Assistant Regional Director for Operations of DSWD Field Office VI, together with her team.

The activity aimed to orient and strengthen the knowledge of Barangay Captains and Secretaries regarding the AICS program, its objectives, eligibility requirements, types of assistance, and proper referral process. It also sought to strengthen coordination between the barangays, the CSWDO, and DSWD in ensuring that individuals and families experiencing crisis are properly assisted and referred to appropriate services.

During a heartwarming ceremony at the Provincial Convention of Child Development Workers and Teachers on August 13-14, 2025, at Punta Villa Resort in Iloilo, ten dedicated Child Development Workers from Passi City were honored for their unwavering commitment and exemplary service. These remarkable individuals, who have devoted 25 to 32 years to nurturing and guiding children's development, received certificates. Recognizing their significant contributions to the community. This gathering not only celebrated the honorees but also highlighted the vital role Child Development Workers play in shaping a brighter future for the children of Passi City.

Project LAWA at BINHI is now rolling out in Passi City, Iloilo.

On August 11, 2026, DSWD Field Office VI Regional Director Joselito G. Estember, along with the Team Vest-in Red and Ms. Evelyn P. Payas, City Social Welfare Officer of Passi City, visited the site at Barangay Gemomu-a Agdahon.

Project LAWA at BINHI is a flagship climate resilience and food security initiative by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), integrated under the Risk Resiliency Program (RRP). It aims to protect poor and disaster-prone communities from water scarcity and food insecurity caused by severe climate conditions like El NiΓ±o and La NiΓ±a.

Out of 51 barangays in Passi City, 15 have already launched and integrated the project.

** DSWD FO VI Inaugurates New Satellite Office in Passi City**

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI (DSWD FO VI) officially inaugurated its new satellite office in Passi City, Iloilo, on August 11, 2026.

The inauguration was led by DSWD Regional Director Joselito G. Estember and Passi City Mayor Atty. Stephen A. Palmares. The event was attended by Division Chiefs of various programs and services, members of the management committee, DSWD personnel in red vests, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officers (MSWDOs) from nearby municipalities, Department Heads, as well as the City Vice Mayor and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Passi City.

This satellite office is designed to function as a "ONE-STOP SHOP" for a range of DSWD programs and services, including assistance for individuals in crisis (AICS) and other related services.
