Tatak Pinoy Gawang Pilipino Technologies for better Self-Reliant Defense Posture-
GIANCARLO CAPCO: HOME-GROWN DEFENSE TECHNOLOGY KEY TO PHILIPPINE SELF-RELIANCE
By Defense News Daily PH
Giancarlo Capco, Chairman and Chief Pateros Scientist Technologist of the Mayor Capco Leadership 1 Training Center, emphasized the vital role of locally developed innovations as he shared his vision with the Philippine Army.
Speaking before military officers and defense leaders, Capco highlighted CALRIGER Defense and Rescue Technologies — proudly Tatak Pinoy, Gawang Pilipino — not merely as products, but as a foundation for national resilience and sovereignty.
“Developing our own defense and rescue technologies is not just about building equipment. It is about building our nation’s ability to stand on its own feet.”
He outlined three core pillars of this mission:
🛡️ Strengthening National Self-Reliance
By reducing dependence on imported systems, the Philippines establishes a truly independent defense posture — one that answers to no foreign interest and evolves according to our own national priorities.
🧠 Empowering Filipino Talent & Capabilities
Every CALRIGER innovation is designed, engineered, and built by Filipino hands. This movement nurtures a new generation of scientists, technologists, and skilled workers, creating a sustainable ecosystem where local talent leads the country’s technological advancement.
🆘 Saving Lives & Defending Sovereignty
These technologies serve a dual purpose:
- In times of disaster and calamity — locally built rescue and response systems can be deployed immediately, without waiting for overseas supply chains.
- Against external threats — home-grown defense capabilities equip the nation to protect its people, territory, and resources with reliability, readiness, and defense strategies guided by patriotism.
“Our own people, our own science, our own industry — these are the truest shield we can build for the Philippines.”
