TYPHOON DOMENG MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH WHILE MOVING NORTH NORTHWESTWARD
OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA
โข Location of Center (10:00 PM)
The center of the eye of Typhoon DOMENG was estimated based on all available data at 630 km East Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (22.9ยฐN, 127.5ยฐE).
โข Intensity
Maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 160 km/h, and central pressure of 965 hPa
โข Present Movement
North northwestward at 20 km/h
โข Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds
Strong to typhoon-force winds extend outwards up to 500 km from the center

โฃ Severe Winds
The enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon and the periphery of DOMENG will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
โข Today: Most of Visayas, Batanes, Cagayan, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol Region.
โข Tomorrow (01 June): Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Panay Island, and Negros Occidental.
โข Tuesday (02 June): Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
โฃ 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
โข Up to 3.5 m: The eastern seaboard of Batanes.
โข Up to 3.0 m: The seaboards of mainland Cagayan and Isabela; the northern and eastern seaboards of Babuyan Islands; the remaining seaboard of Batanes.
โข Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels.
Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters:
โข Up to 2.5 m: The northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands and Catanduanes; the northeastern seaboard of Aurora; the northern seaboards of Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.
โข Up to 2.0 m: The remaining seaboard of Aurora; the northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte; the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Samar; the eastern seaboards of Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, and Dinagat Islands; the southern seaboard of Kalayaan Islands; the western seaboard of southern Palawan.
โข Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
โข It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the forecast confidence cone. Refer to โOther Hazards affecting Land Areasโ for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
โข Typhoon DOMENG will begin moving northward starting tomorrow (01 June) before recurving towards southern Japan for the remaining forecast period. This tropical cyclone is less likely to make landfall over the country. DOMENG will likely exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow morning or afternoon.
โข DOMENG may briefly intensify within the next 12 hours while remaining over the Philippine Sea. Afterwards, it will steadily weaken but will remain as a typhoon throughout the forecast period.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
