Promoting accessibility and safeguarding the rights of persons with disabilities are essential components of building a sustainable and inclusive future. Achieving a society where no one is left behind requires concerted efforts at various levels, including government, organizations, communities, and individuals. Here are some key aspects that contribute to this vision:

1. Inclusive Policies and Laws: Governments must enact and enforce laws that protect the rights of persons with disabilities, ensuring equal access to education, employment, healthcare, transportation, and other essential services. Inclusive policies should be developed, considering the diverse needs of people with different types of disabilities.
2. Accessible Infrastructure: Building accessible infrastructure is crucial to empowering persons with disabilities. This includes wheelchair ramps, elevators, accessible public transportation, and ensuring that public spaces are designed with universal accessibility in mind.
3. Inclusive Education: Education is a fundamental right for everyone. It is essential to create an inclusive education system that accommodates the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities. This involves providing assistive technologies, accessible learning materials, and support for teachers to address the needs of all learners.
4. Employment Opportunities: Creating an inclusive job market involves removing barriers to employment for persons with disabilities. Encouraging diversity and providing reasonable accommodations in the workplace will help people with disabilities participate actively in the workforce.
5. Accessible Technology: Advancements in technology can greatly benefit persons with disabilities. Creating and promoting accessible technology ensures that digital platforms, websites, and software are usable by everyone.
6. Awareness and Sensitization: Raising awareness about disability issues and promoting a positive, respectful attitude toward persons with disabilities is crucial in combating stigmas and stereotypes.
7. Healthcare and Rehabilitation Services: Access to quality healthcare and rehabilitation services is essential for persons with disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
8. Social Inclusion: Encouraging the inclusion of persons with disabilities in all aspects of community life fosters a sense of belonging and helps break down barriers.
9. Disaster Preparedness: Disaster preparedness plans must consider the needs of persons with disabilities to ensure their safety and well-being during emergencies.
10. Collaboration and Empowerment: Collaboration between government, organizations, and disabled persons' groups is vital in designing and implementing policies and initiatives. Empowering persons with disabilities to be actively involved in decision-making processes that affect them ensures that their voices are heard.

By embracing these principles and taking proactive measures to address the unique challenges faced by persons with disabilities, we can work toward a sustainable future where every individual is valued and included, and no one is left behind.

The Local Government Unit of Payao joins the nation in celebrating the 45th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week.

Read: The Municipal Social Welfare Office of the Local Government Unit of Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay supports the Payao National High School in Lunching of RAPID Thru SIKAP de SIBUGAY on March 15, 2023.

The RAPID Thru SIKAP de Sibugay aim to improve the academic performance of the learners. The RAPID Thru SIKAP de Sibugay is anchored on the Department of Education new agenda, MATATAG, with the following components: Make the curriculum relevant to produce competent and job-ready, active, and responsible citizens; Take steps to accelerate delivery of basic education facilities and services. Take good care of learners by promoting learner well-being, inclusive education, and a positive learning environment; and Give support to teachers to teach better.

The lockdown caused by COVID-19 prevented students from entering their classrooms, switching them to blended learning, where they could continue their studies from home using online classes and modules. The Department of Education was one of the government agencies that was most negatively affected by the Pandemic. As a result, many students have lagged behind, particularly in reading. Because of this, the SIKAP de Sibugay was developed to meet the needs of illiterate learners and help them catch up after a two-year health crisis.

As partner stakeholders of the Payao National High School's RAPID thru SIKAP de Sibugay program, we are fully committed to supporting the program's implementation to ensure that no one, most particularly the learners, is left behind for the benefit of the country.

School head - Teacher Relationship
A school head should not court his/her teacher. Just like a teacher-student relationship, a school head-teacher relationship is a professional relationship that requires boundaries and ethical conduct. A romantic or sexual relationship between a school head and a teacher can be seen as exploitative, and it can compromise the teacher's safety, well-being, and professional performance.
Moreover, if such a relationship were to occur, it could be seen as an abuse of power and authority, as the school head has a higher rank and greater influence over the teacher. The school head could use this influence to manipulate or pressure the teacher into a relationship, which is a serious ethical concern.
Therefore, school heads must maintain professional boundaries with their teachers at all times and must not engage in any behavior that may be seen as inappropriate, such as courting or pursuing a romantic relationship with a teacher. Any such behavior is considered a serious breach of professional ethics and can lead to disciplinary action, including the loss of a job and legal consequences.
