𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁

Peñablanca PIO representatives John Rex S. Bunuan and Reymark M. Ballad joined the 3-day Cagayan Information Officers Summit held at NGN Gran Hotel from August 26–28, 2026.

The summit gathered information officers and communicators from different municipalities and offices across Cagayan. It was conducted by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region II and the Cagayan Provincial Information Office (CPIO).

The participants underwent Level 1 of an intensive training program on basic journalism, which covered news writing, feature writing, mobile journalism, social media management, social media card production, photojournalism, crisis communication, and radio broadcasting.

The training and workshop were designed to sharpen the participants' technical expertise and elevate the standard of local public reporting.

Through the leadership of Mayor Marilyn Julia Taguinod and her continued commitment to delivering effective communication, the LGU's participation highlights its dedication to enhancing public information skills toward more transparent and responsive governance.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The Municipal Assessment and Transition Team of the Local Government Unit of Peñablanca commenced the Conduct of Initial Inventory of Barangay and SK Properties, Financial Records and Documents, and Money Accountabilities on August 24-25, 2026.

This activity aims to ensure an orderly, transparent, and accountable assessment of barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan resources, records, and accountabilities in preparation for the proper transition of responsibilities. It likewise seeks to establish accurate documentation of government properties, financial records, and money accountabilities, promoting good governance and safeguarding public assets through a systematic inventory process.

As of today, the team has successfully conducted the said activity in five barangays, namely:
Brgy. Lapi
Brgy. Minanga
Brgy. Manga
Brgy. Buyun, and
Brgy. Nabbabalayan

The Municipal Assessment and Transition Team continues its commitment to carrying out the inventory in the remaining barangays with diligence, efficiency, and utmost integrity.

The DILG Cagayan Province conducts the CUCPD Orientation and Workshop on August 19–20, 2026, at Villablanca Hotel, Tuguegarao City.

The activity brings together LGU Officials from LYDO, MSWDO, MDRRMO, MPDO, PESO, HRMO, PNP, and Youth Leaders in a collaborative effort to strengthen local leadership and governance.

Through this workshop, participants are empowered to better understand and address grassroots issues affecting vulnerable sectors of society, while strengthening coordination and community-based approaches toward peace and development.

With the continued support of Mayor Marilyn Julia Taguinod, the LGU remains committed to strengthening the capacity of its personnel and youth leaders in creating peaceful, inclusive, resilient, and empowered communities. 💙

JUST IN: The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Peñablanca successfully conducted its payout for solo parents today, August 18, 2026, held at the Municipal Gymnasium.

Driven by the strong leadership and dedicated vision of Mayor Marilyn Julia Taguinod, the LGU successfully distributed financial assistance to empower and support solo parents within the municipality. This vital program specifically aims to provide much-needed aid and benefits to this important and vulnerable group in our community.

Furthermore, this solo parent payout is only one of the many impactful programs consistently delivered by the Local Government Unit of Peñablanca through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) office headed by Ms. Alicia Tamayao. It reflects the continuous dedication and unwavering intention to uplift the lives and well-being of every Peñablancano.

IN MEMORIAM | HON. ELMER C. MARIBBAY

The Municipality of Peñablanca joins the family, relatives, friends, and loved ones of Hon. Elmer C. Maribbay, former Municipal Vice Mayor of Peñablanca, in mourning his passing.

Hon. Maribbay served as Municipal Vice Mayor of Peñablanca for two terms, from July 1, 1992 to June 30, 1995, and from July 1, 1998 to June 30, 2001. His years in public service became part of the story and history of our municipality.

Yesterday, August 12, 2026, the Municipality of Peñablanca, through the leadership of Hon. Marilyn Julia-Taguinod, held a Necrological Service in his honor, as a humble expression of respect and gratitude for his years of service to our town. During the ceremony, the Municipality also conferred upon him the Posthumous Service Award, recognizing his service as Municipal Vice Mayor and his contribution to our local government.

As we remember Hon. Elmer C. Maribbay, we honor the trust he once carried, the responsibilities he undertook, and the years he devoted to serving the people of Peñablanca.

To the Maribbay family, please accept our deepest condolences. May you find strength and comfort in the love and support of your family, friends, and community.

Your years of service will remain a part of the story of Peñablanca. Requiescat in Pace, Hon. Elmer C. Maribbay.

Due to the effects of Tropical Depression Luis and the continuing heavy rainfall, CLASSES AT ALL LEVELS ARE SUSPENDED in all **public and private schools in the Municipality of Peñablanca effective 10:30 AM today, August 3, 2026.

Students, teachers, school personnel, and parents are advised to stay safe and avoid unnecessary travel until weather conditions improve.
