PHILHEALTH GAMOT

After completing a series of trainings, orientations, facility site readiness assessments, and the accreditation process with PhilHealth Regional Office V and the Local Health Insurance Office – Sorsogon, the Rural Health Unit of Pilar has successfully pilot tested the PhilHealth GAMOT Package.

Under the PhilHealth Guaranteed and Accessible Medications for Outpatient Treatment (PhilHealth GAMOT), every eligible Filipino is entitled to a ₱20,000 Annual Benefit Limit (ABL) to cover medications included in the 54 additional GAMOT-listed essential medicines, helping reduce out-of-pocket expenses for outpatient treatment and strengthening the delivery of primary care services through accredited health facilities nationwide.

In addition, the 21 essential medicines under PhilHealth YAKAP Clinics remain available, bringing the total to 75 essential medicines guaranteed under this expanded outpatient benefit package.

This milestone reflects the Local Government Unit – Pilar’s commitment to improving access to quality primary care services and essential medicines for every Pilareño.

Eligible PhilHealth members may visit RHU-Pilar or any YAKAP Clinic / PhilHealth GAMOT Facility to avail of these free medicines and services.

For non-PhilHealth members, please visit your nearest Barangay Health Station for assistance with the PhilHealth membership registration process.

The “Dugo Ko, Buhay Mo” Mobile Blood Donation Activity, spearheaded by RHU Pilar with the active participation of DOH-HRH and the Municipal BHW Federation, successfully generated 73 blood donors with completed donations. The activity was fully supported by Municipal Mayor Dennis A. Sy-Reyes, highlighting the local government’s commitment to saving lives and strengthening community health services.

The Local Government Unit of Pilar proudly earns Four (4) Prestigious Awards at the Salud Bicolnon Awarding Ceremony led by Municipal Health Officer Dr. David R. Daza. Joining him were MDRRMO Head/Assistant Municipal Administrator Arnol Lista and Rural Sanitary Inspector David Mandrilla Jr.

The awards received by LGU Pilar are as follows:
1. Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Health Institutionalization Award

2. Good Practice in Health Awards and Recognition

3. Bronze Award: Recognition on the Absorption of LGU for Human Resources for Health (HRH)

4. Municipality-wide Certified Zero Open Defecation (ZOD)

These recognitions serve as an inspiration to the RHU Pilar Team to continuously deliver quality health services to the community, guided by excellence, dedication, and teamwork. The Philippine Coconut Authority successfully conducted Free medical consultation,Dental Services, ECG, and X-ray Services to 500 Registered PCA Members last 11/28/2025 at Cabiguan, Pilar Sorsogon. The free medical consutation was provided by the PCAs Medical Team,. assisted by the 7K medical Team with strong support from Provincial Government, Governor Boboy Hamor , and together with the RHU Pilar Medical Team, through the leadership of Mayor Dennis A. Sy-Reyes. Special recognition to the Barangay Chairman, Ma'am Lani Millano with her barangay council of Cabiguan for leading and assisting the activity. The event was successfully accomplished in service to our coconut farmers through the collective efforts of all partner agencies and local leaders.
