EWA Seminar: Muscovado, Sugarcane Wine and Vinegar Making

The Seminar was conducted on May 21, 2025 at the Muscovado Processing Facility of Guinaban Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Brgy. Guinaban, Ocampo, Camarines Sur. It was attended by the members of Gatbo Isarog Farmers Workers Association and Guinaban Multi-Purpose Cooperative, most of whom were interested in muscovado processing as additional livelihood opportunity.
The goal of the seminar was to equip participants with practical knowledge and hands-on skills in processing natural and locally available products such as muscovado sugar, sugarcane wine, and cane vinegar, not only for personal use but also as a potential source of income.
With the extensive knowledge and years of experience of the resource person, Ms. Rosalina Tan of SRA FSRD, she was able to clearly explain the step-by-step processes of muscovado sugar production, as well as the fundamentals of making wine and vinegar from sugarcane.
Overall, the activity was informative and empowering. It provided participants with valuable skills and knowledge that can help improve their livelihood and promote sustainable, local-based production. The presence and expertise of Ms. Tan played a big role in making the seminar both educational and inspiring. Looking forward to these coming days both associations will produce quality muscovado and other cane products.
