PATHWAYS FOR 50 FORMER REBELS: PNP BACKS STRONGER REINTEGRATION EFFORTS IN ILOILO

Hope and renewed possibilities filled Iloilo City as fifty Former Rebels embarked on their next chapter—this time guided by unity, public service, and a collective commitment to lasting peace.

Under the leadership of PNP Acting Chief PLTGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., the Philippine National Police, through Police Regional Office 6, participated in the “Handog Serbisyo, Hakbang Tungo sa Kapayapaan: ECLIP and Firearm Remuneration Program Strengthening” led by DILG Region VI on November 20, 2025, at Sam’s 21 Hotel in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

The activity is part of the government’s enhanced initiatives under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP), bringing together national and local stakeholders committed to supporting Former Rebels as they take meaningful steps toward reintegration and renewed community participation.

PLTGEN Nartatez highlighted the PNP’s steadfast role in advancing peace, saying:

“Sustainable peace thrives when individuals who return to the fold of the law are given real opportunities to rebuild their lives with dignity and stability. The PNP continues to stand alongside government partners in ensuring that Former Rebels are supported, guided, and empowered as they reintegrate into society.”

The event featured the distribution of assistance and gift packs to fifty (50) Former Rebels, demonstrating the government’s firm commitment to their welfare and transition back to community life. This initiative reinforced the continuing drive to foster healing, unity, and long-term development in once conflict-affected areas.

A multi-agency service caravan also delivered essential services including National Police Clearance (RIDMD PRO6), dental services (RMDU6), medical and laboratory checkups (WVMC), medicines (DOH-6), Philippine National ID registration (PSA-6), as well as services from DENR, DAR, and support from OPAPRU—providing Former Rebels and their families with access to critical government assistance in one venue.

Aligned with its continuing transformation thrusts, the PNP advances its PNP Focused Agenda, a blueprint designed to elevate police service and deepen community engagement. For this activity, the priority on Active Community Support stood out as the PNP strengthened coordination with partner agencies and contributed to meaningful reintegration efforts.

PNP Spokesperson and Chief PIO, PBGEN Randulf T. Tuaño underscored the significance of unified action, stating:

“Service activities like this show how coordinated government efforts create real impact at the community level. Each shared initiative helps build an environment where peace and development can take root.”

As the PNP advances its anti-crime thrusts under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the organization continues to assure the public of its vision: the PNP’s “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”
