CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro - Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, under the leadership of PBGEN Christopher R. Dela Cruz, Regional Director, arrested two individuals and seized approximately five grams of suspected shabu and 14 rounds of ammunition in a buy-bust operation in Cajidiocan, Romblon, on September 2, 2026.
The operation was conducted at about 9:50 p.m. in Sitio Puntaki, Barangay Poblacion, Cajidiocan, by personnel of the Cajidiocan Municipal Police Station (MPS), under the supervision of PCPT Mary Jade Gaca, Officer-in-Charge, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Romblon Provincial Office.
The joint operation resulted in the recovery of one elongated heat-sealed sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, which was the subject of the drug transaction, along with 12 additional heat-sealed sachets containing a similar substance.
The suspected dangerous drugs recovered during the operation had an estimated total weight of five grams and a standard drug price of approximately โฑ34,000.
Operatives also recovered five rounds of caliber 9mm ammunition and nine rounds of caliber .38 ammunition, for a total of 14 rounds of ammunition.
Other recovered items included five crumpled strips of aluminum foil, two lighters with improvised burners, one rolled aluminum foil, one blue pouch, one brown coin purse, one open plastic sachet, and two โฑ500 bills used as marked money during the operation.
The suspected illegal drugs will be brought to the Romblon Forensic Unit in Odiongan, Romblon, for qualitative examination, while the arrested individuals will likewise undergo drug testing.
Charges for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Section 3(b) of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act, are being prepared for filing before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor for inquest proceedings.
PBGEN Dela Cruz commended the operating units for their coordinated efforts, emphasizing the importance of sustained intelligence-driven operations against illegal drugs and other unlawful activities that threaten public safety.

The arrested individuals are currently under the custody of Cajidiocan MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
