14 August 2026 | Expanded Centenarians Act

The Municipality of Pinili proudly facilitated the Cash Gift Distribution under Republic Act No. 11982, or the Expanded Centenarians Act, honoring our beloved senior citizens and celebrating their meaningful lives, contributions, and legacies.

We also acknowledge and appreciate the Regional Office personnel to personally facilitate the distribution. In ensuring that our qualified senior citizens received the assistance they deserved.

Led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Rommel T. Labasan, this activity reflects our shared commitment to honoring and supporting our elderly citizens.

13 August 2026 | Inabel Day 2026

As part of the celebration of Inabel Day 2026 and in honor of our beloved Nana Magdalena “Daleng” Gamayo, the Municipality of Pinili brought the spirit of our heritage to life, not only through the loom, but through the people who proudly wear it.

Throughout the week, Monday to Friday, all LGU Pinili employees were invited to participate in the Best Inabel Attire Competition, showcasing their creativity, elegance, and pride in wearing our treasured Ilocano inabel.

Each day, one male and one female employee were recognized as daily winners, celebrating the different ways our employees creatively and proudly incorporated Inabel into their everyday work attire.

The celebration reached its colorful culmination through an exciting Inabel Fashion Show, where every department and office proudly presented one male and one female model to represent their team. Through their fashion pieces, they showcased how our traditional woven fabric can be transformed into stylish, meaningful, and contemporary designs while preserving its cultural identity.

Adding another highlight to the celebration was the special recognition for the Best Group/Office in Inabel Wear, honoring the department or office that consistently and proudly wore inabel throughout the entire Monday-to-Friday celebration.

This celebration was a beautiful reminder that wearing inabel is wearing our identity. Every thread carries a story, every pattern reflects our heritage, and every person who wears it becomes part of the continuing story of Ilocano craftsmanship.

In honoring Nana Daleng, we also honor the generations of weavers who have dedicated their hands and hearts to keeping this treasured tradition alive.

From the hands of our weavers to the halls of our municipal offices, Inabel continues to live, inspire, and unite us.

13 August 2026 | Cook-Off Competition (Native Chicken)

As part of the celebration of the 102nd Birthday of Nana Magdalena “Daleng” Gamayo, GAMABA Awardee and National Living Treasure, the Municipality of Pinili brought together the 25 barangays of Pinili for a flavorful celebration of community, creativity, and culinary tradition through the Native Chicken Cook-Off Competition!

With native chicken or “manok a native” as the main ingredient, the competition pays tribute to one of Nana Daleng’s favorite dishes while showcasing the ingenuity and culinary skills of our Pinileño cooks.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Northland Gas Corporation – Fiesta Gas, one of the major sponsors of the Native Chicken Cook-Off Competition, for their generous support and contribution in making this meaningful celebration possible.

13 August 2026 | A Celebration of a Living Legacy: 102 Years of Nana Daleng

A century and two years of life, woven with stories, artistry, perseverance, and an enduring love for our cultural heritage.

The Municipality of Pinili proudly celebrates the 102nd Birthday of Nana Magdalena “Daleng” Gamayo, GAMABA Awardee and National Living Treasure, whose extraordinary mastery of the traditional Ilocano Inabel weaving continues to inspire generations and preserve the rich cultural identity of our people.

The celebration was made even more meaningful by the presence of distinguished guests and visitors who came together to honor Nana Daleng and celebrate her remarkable life and legacy.

Among those who graced the occasion were Hon. Angelo Marcos Barba, Congressman of the 2nd District of Ilocos Norte; Hon. Cecilia Araneta Marcos, Governor of Ilocos Norte, ably represented by Hon. Cheryl Boromeo Tabangay, Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative and Ex-Officio Member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan; and Hon. Matthew Marcos Manotoc, Vice Governor of Ilocos Norte, ably represented by Hon. Kitchel Galacgac Puntilan, President of the Philippine Councilors League–Ilocos Norte Chapter.

Also in attendance were members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, leaders and representatives from various National Government Agencies, Mayors and Vice Mayors from different municipalities, and other honored guests and visitors who joined this momentous celebration.

The Municipal Government of Pinili, headed by Hon. Rommel T. Labasan, Municipal Mayor, together with Hon. Maynard Francis R. Bumanglag, Municipal Vice Mayor, the Sangguniang Bayan Members, and the dedicated municipal officials and employees, proudly stood with the community in honoring one of Pinili’s greatest cultural treasures.

At 102, Nana Daleng’s hands may have woven countless yards of inabel, but her life has woven something even greater, a legacy of tradition, identity, craftsmanship, and pride that will continue to live on in the hearts and hands of generations to come.

Happy 102nd Birthday, Nana Daleng!

May your life continue to be a beautiful thread in the rich tapestry of Pinili and the entire Ilocos Norte. Your legacy is our heritage, and your story will forever be woven into ours.

The Municipality of Pinili proudly recognized our Milestone Awardees who have reached the remarkable ages of 80, 85, and 90–99 years old. This meaningful recognition celebrates not only their longevity but also the inspiring lives they have lived and the legacy they continue to share with future generations.

Leading the recognition was Municipal Mayor Hon. Rommel T. Labasan, who personally extended his heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to our beloved senior citizens.
