The Tulgao and Butbut tribes have taken a monumental first step toward restoring their Bodong by successfully completing the exchange of Sipat. This exchange is far more than just a customary gesture; it is a profound expression of both tribes' shared dedication to settling their differences through dialogue, mutual respect, and the time-honored traditions of the Kalinga people.

Rooted deeply in their cultural heritage, the two communities have agreed to resolve their boundary conflict in accordance with their respective Pagta, which are the traditional laws and agreements that govern their people. Putting this agreement into immediate action, the actual delineation of the tribal boundary is set to begin this coming week. This vital dialogue was seamlessly facilitated by the Tinglayan municipal negotiating team, led by Mayor Charles A. Abay, alongside the Tinglayan Peace Corps and the Municipal Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative, with supportive coordination from the Philippine Army.

The elders, tribal leaders, and members of the Tulgao and Butbut communities are to be highly commended for actively choosing the path of peace, unity, and reconciliation. The 103rd Infantry "Mabalasik" Battalion proudly stands behind this historic community milestone, continuing to support local peace initiatives that rely on indigenous traditions to foster a harmonious and secure Kalinga.
