BRIGADA ESKWELA 2026 RECORRIDA: BRINGING EDUCATION CLOSER TO EVERY HOME

In preparation for the opening of School Year 2026โ€“2027, San Roque Central Elementary School successfully conducted its Brigada Eskwela 2026 Recorrida, a community outreach and advocacy campaign aimed at promoting the upcoming Brigada Eskwela and Enrollment Period on June 1โ€“5, 2026.
Under the leadership of School Principal Dr. Veronica C. Bacalares and Assistant to the Principal Ms. Ellen B. Estacaan, the teaching force of San Roque Central Elementary School demonstrated unwavering commitment and dedication as they visited various barangays and households within the school's catchment area. The activity sought to encourage parents, guardians, community members, and stakeholders to actively participate in Brigada Eskwela and enroll their children for the coming school year.
Leading the advocacy campaign was Mrs. Queenchita V. Gumapac, Chairperson of the Advocacy and Marketing Committee, together with Mrs. Ledenia T. Tan, Co-Chairperson. They were joined by the committee members namely Mrs. Ermie M. Murillo, Mrs. Michelle P. Laroga, Mrs. Margie S. Cinco, Mrs. Jade J. Sacuan, Mrs. Lorelei S. Hoylar, Mr. Danilo O. Vistal, Mr. Jason C. Sahagun, and Mrs. Myrna C. De Guzman. Also lending support to the campaign was Mrs. Tarhata P. Sobisol of the Abot Alam Committee. The activity was further strengthened by the participation of volunteer teachers from different grade levels and learning areas who willingly joined the recorrida, demonstrating their commitment to the school's mission of providing quality education and ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to enroll and succeed.
The school likewise expresses its sincere appreciation to Hon. Edgardo Vergara, Barangay Captain, for generously providing transportation for the teachers during the Brigada Eskwela 2026 Recorrida. His support significantly enhanced the mobility of the advocacy team and demonstrated the strong collaboration between the local government and the school in promoting quality education for all learners.
With enthusiasm and passion for education, the teachers conducted house-to-house visits, distributed information materials, and personally invited families and stakeholders to become partners in preparing the school for another productive academic year. The campaign highlighted the importance of community participation in ensuring that learners return to a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment.
The recorrida served not only as an enrollment drive but also as a powerful reminder that education is a shared responsibility. Through direct engagement with families and community members, the school strengthened its partnership with stakeholders and fostered a spirit of volunteerism, cooperation, and bayanihan.
The positive response received from parents and community members reflected their trust and confidence in the school's mission of providing quality education. Their willingness to support Brigada Eskwela is a testament to the strong relationship that San Roque Central Elementary School has built with its stakeholders over the years.
As the school community looks forward to the opening of classes, the successful conduct of the Brigada Eskwela 2026 Recorrida stands as a shining example of teamwork, commitment, and collective action. Through the leadership of the school administration, the dedication of the Advocacy and Marketing Committee, and the support of the community, San Roque Central Elementary School continues to uphold its commitment to nurturing quality learners and building a brighter future for every child.

Together, let us continue to embrace the spirit of Brigada Eskwelaโ€”working hand in hand to make learning more accessible, meaningful, and successful for all.

Batch 75 funds fence mural painting

San Roque Central Elementary School received a fresh make-over with a colorful mural painting in its perimeter fence. Funding the project was the Alumni Batch 1975 group.

The theme of the mural was Dabawenyo Disiplinado, one of the City Government's flagship advocacy. It also featured the different flora, fauna and landscapes that make Davao unique.

"It has been my desire to make our school more visually attractive to the community and to the learners. The creativity in the murals depict our school values and reinforce curriculum, radiating vibrant and fun atmosphere and stimulate interest among children, who are mostly visual learners," Dr. Veronica C. Bacalares, the principal said.

Last April 26, 2026, batch 75 representatives Evelyn Pasilbas Sasube and Stella Villamar Yamas turned over the P30,000 to the school which would be used for the labor and materials needed of the 59 meter span mural painting. They were grateful to give back to the school as they celebrate their silver Jubilee. Lead of Batch 75 is Director Priscilla R. Sonido, Regional Director of Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev).
