TURISMO POLANCO SHARPENS DATA CAPABILITIES AT ADVANCED TOURISM STATISTICS TRAINING 2026

In a continuous effort to strengthen local tourism planning, data management, and sustainable development, the Turismo Polanco team successfully completed the Advanced Tourism Statistics Training (ATST) held on July 27โ€“31, 2026.

The Polanco delegation was led by Tourism Officer Designate Mr. Manuel R. Cajocon Jr., alongside dedicated Tourism Staff Geser Quinlog and Adrian Dalman.

The intensive 5-day training gathered Tourism Officers and key personnel from various municipalities across the Zamboanga Peninsula to enhance competencies in tracking, analyzing, and leveraging tourism metrics under the Standard Local Tourism Statistics System framework.

The initiative was spearheaded by Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Dara May L. Cataluรฑa, JD, MDMG, alongside Ms. Faero Fontanilla from the DOT Office of Tourism Development Planning, Research and Information Management (OTDPRIM), emphasizing the vital role of reliable data in shaping the region's tourism future.
