On this Mother’s Day, reminder: your mother was once someone’s little daughter too.

Before she became “Mama,” she was also a little girl who needed love, patience, and understanding.

So don’t be too hard on her.

She may not be perfect, but she tried.
She sacrificed in ways you never saw.
She cried in silence.
She prayed for you when you did not even know what to pray for.

And now, she’s getting older too.

Her steps may become slower.
Her voice may become softer.
Her body may get tired faster.
But her love for you is still the same.

Appreciate her while you still can. Call her. Hug her. Thank her. Forgive her. Love her gently.

Because one day, you will miss the sound of her voice, the comfort of her presence, and the love you thought would always be there.

“Honor your father and your mother.” Exodus 20:12

“Her children arise and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:28

Love your mother while she’s still here. Some moments only become priceless when they become memories. 🤍

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for our mothers. Please bless them, strengthen them, and let them feel the love they have given so many times. Teach us to be more patient, more grateful, and more gentle while we still have time. Amen.

Discipline with a Heart and NOT Discipline with a Pain

Sometimes, after a parent hurts a child in anger, the parent explains the reason and says sorry afterward.

But what does the child truly learn?

A child may begin to believe that:

✅hurting someone is acceptable when emotions are strong,
✅love and pain can exist together,
✅power gives permission to control,
✅saying “sorry” is enough even when harmful behavior continues.

Yes, children can also learn accountability when adults admit mistakes.
▶️Apologizing matters.
▶️Explaining matters.
▶️Repair matters.

But children learn more from what we repeatedly do than from what we say.

If correction always comes with fear, shouting, or physical pain, the lesson may no longer be about behavior. The lesson may become:

“When people are angry, hurting others is normal.”

Discipline should teach, not terrify.
Correction should guide, not wound dignity.

Children do not only remember the punishment.

They remember how safe, or unsafe, they felt with the people they trusted most.

A calm conversation may take longer.
Gentle but firm discipline may require more patience.

But long after childhood, the way adults corrected them often becomes the voice children carry inside themselves.

🩷Choose discipline that teaches.
🩷Choose correction with dignity.
🩷Choose to break cycles, not continue them.
🩷 Choose Discipline with a Heart
