EDIT: To further elaborate on this, the committee informed each of the submitting bands that the contest is initially made exclusive to residents of barangay Glamang both on the first announcement and during the signup process. As a matter of fact, part of the signup form is to detail their respective purok addresses.
The details posted on the thumbnail (e.g. Purok Addresses) are a mechanic to safeguard the legitimacy of the initial exclusivity clause of the competition. If the committee intended to mislead the community and market the participating bands as entirely native to Glamang, it would not be illogical to do so in the first place.
We understand that the late notification of the change on the competition mechanics is indeed a fault to be reflected upon. We apologize for this shortcoming. However, let it be known that the committee did not intend to mislead the youth of Barangay Glamang.
And if anything, we have created this competition with emphasis to the native bands to participate. Yet similar to all other initiatives of the council, we have received little to no response. Thus prompting us to open our competition, the BOTB, to outside participation provided the members have at least a semblance of familiarity to our Barangay.
If you do not recognise anyone who have provided a purok address within Barangay Glamang, please do inform us. We will impose sanctions and eject the respective group from the competition due to dishonesty.
We hear you.
And as part of our commitment to accountability; If the community outrage continues due to this, we will unfortunately be forced to shut down all implementations of this activity in the near future due to deprioritization.
