Basketball Tournament Announcement!

In celebration of the 50th Araw ng Poonapiagapo, we are pleased to present the 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 featuring the different clusters of the municipality. Mark your calendars and witness the exciting tip-off on the afternoon of 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, as basketball enthusiasts of Poonapiagapo showcase their talent and sportsmanship.

Tournament Guidelines:

• 𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙣 𝘼𝙜𝙚 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 – The competition is open to players of all ages.

• 𝙀𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙍𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 – All players must be registered voters of Poonapiagapo. In case a petition or protest is raised, the player concerned must present a Voter’s Certificate for verification.

• 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 – The official list of team members must be submitted or endorsed by the respective Cluster Barangay Captain.

• 𝙎𝙪𝙗𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙇𝙞𝙨𝙩 – The deadline for submission is March 19, 2026. Team rosters must be submitted to 𝐒𝐊 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐟 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐀𝐎 𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚.

• 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙊𝙣𝙡𝙮– Only players whose names appear on the officially submitted team list will be allowed to enter and participate on the court.

We invite everyone to support and celebrate this special occasion as we promote sportsmanship, unity, and camaraderie through this basketball tournament.

Igniting the flame of camaraderie, leadership, and youth empowerment, the 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐨 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 came to life with the theme “Local Youth Action for the SDGs and Beyond,” proudly organized by the Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon of Poona-Piagapo, Lanao del Norte.

This meaningful celebration highlights a vision of a community where the youth are not only inspired to dream but also empowered to act — given opportunities, molded with values, and recognized as partners in building sustainable progress. A vision embraced by our SK Federation President, Hon. Naif Abdullah, who reminds us that unity and cooperation are key in turning youth empowerment into reality.

Everywhere we look, we see passionate faces and hopeful hearts, proving that the future of Poona-Piagapo shines brighter through the strength of its youth.

The Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 has officially and successfully culminated yesterday August 23, 2025 at MBC Gymnasium—a week filled with fun, talent, teamwork, and youth empowerment.

We, the Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon of Poona-Piagapo, Lanao del Norte headed by SK Federation President Hon. Naif Abdullah, extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Municipal Mayor Hon. Ashley Rakiin and the Sangguniang Bayan members for their unwavering support, to Municipal Admin Ma’am Johaena Marcom for being with us from the opening salvo until the culmination day, to our PNP and Barangay Captains whose presence is deeply appreciated, and to MAO Sir Nasif O. Mamarinta for the efforts in making the 7-day basketball playoffs smooth and exciting.

Most of all, we thank all the participants who showcased their skills and talents—truly, the youth of Poona continue to ignite with passion and brilliance. This is not the end, but the beginning of more empowered youth actions ahead.

A recap of yesterday’s event, August 21, 2025, held at MBC Gymnasium and spearheaded by the Sangguniang Kabataan Pederasyon of Poona-Piagapo. The activity was participated in by different Madrasahs in Poona-Piagapo, Lanao del Norte, and featured various competitions such as Adhan, Wasyat, and Qur’an Reading.

This was not just a competition, but also a platform for our Morits to further shape their skills and knowledge in the Islamic field.
