🎓 ICDJ-FD Graduation and Moving-Up Ceremonies for ALS A&E Passers, S.Y. 2025–2026
With the theme "Filipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character," the Iloilo City District Jail – Female Dormitory (ICDJ-FD), under the leadership of JINSP MARIA JEMIMA C FAILABAN, Acting Jail Warden, together with the Unit Welfare and Development (WD) personnel, proudly celebrated its Graduation and Moving-Up Ceremonies for Alternative Learning System (ALS) Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Passers for School Year 2025–2026. The ceremony was held at the ICDJ-FD Activity Area, Brgy. Nanga, Pototan, Iloilo, on July 28, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
The ceremony honored the remarkable achievements of the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) who successfully completed the Elementary and Junior High School levels through the ALS Program. A total of twenty-one (21) learners were recognized, consisting of three (3) Elementary graduates and eighteen (18) Junior High School completers.
This significant milestone reflects ICDJ-FD's unwavering commitment, in partnership with the Department of Education – Alternative Learning System (DepEd-ALS), to providing quality education and meaningful opportunities for rehabilitation, personal growth, and transformation. Through perseverance, determination, and the steadfast support of the jail administration and its valued partners, these graduates and completers have taken another meaningful step toward a brighter and more hopeful future.
The ceremony was graced by Rev. Fr. Ildefonso C. Cachuela Jr., Director of the Jaro Archdiocesan Commission on Prison Pastoral Care, who served as the Guest Speaker. In his inspiring message, he encouraged the graduates and completers to pursue their dreams with faith, hope, and determination despite life's challenges.
This remarkable achievement was made possible through the exemplary dedication and commitment of ICDJ-FD's partner ALS teachers—Ma'am Ena Chua, Ma'am Eunisa Fabrigar, and Ma'am Marilyn Tabaquirao—whose unwavering support, guidance, and dedication greatly contributed to the learners' educational success.
The Presentation of the ALS A&E Elementary Graduates and Junior High School Completers was led by Mr. Stephen J. Balmes, Education Program Specialist II (ALS), Schools Division Office of Iloilo City. This was followed by the Confirmation of Graduates and Completers, officiated by Dr. Leila G. Valencia, Education Program Supervisor–LRMS and Division ALS Focal Person, Schools Division Office of Iloilo City, formally recognizing the successful completion of the learners' educational journey.
The Introduction of the Guest Speaker was delivered by SJO1 Gretchen J Demisana, Unit Welfare and Development Officer. The ceremony concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by JINSP MARIA JEMIMA C FAILABAN, Acting Jail Warden, who congratulated the graduates and completers for their resilience, determination, and commitment to self-improvement. She encouraged them to continue striving for excellence and to embrace education as a powerful tool in rebuilding their lives and preparing for a better future.
The program was professionally hosted by JO2 Bernphine A Padernal and JO1 Menard D Arpa, Unit Welfare and Development Officer, who served as the Masters of Ceremonies, ensuring the smooth, orderly, and meaningful flow of the event.
