TB medicines are NOT as simple as buying from a pharmacy.
These drugs go through a long supply chain—from international manufacturers to national and regional distributors—before reaching LGUs. Most of our supply comes from DOH with fixed procurement cycles, which means delays can happen.
Our reality:
✔ Budget for TB & HIV: ₱400,000
✔ Actual need for TB drugs alone: ~₱626,000 (after subsidy)
✔ Patients served (2024): 174
✔ Funds already used (2025): ₱391,850
When supplies run short, we are forced to buy locally at higher prices, while still complying with strict audit rules.
Despite these challenges, we continue to provide treatment and ensure patients complete their medication.
TB is increasing every year. This is not just a government issue—it is a community responsibility.
Instead of blame, let us work together:
