Western Visayas BIZCONEX on Wheels 2026 made its fourth stop in the Seafood Capital of the Philippines—the Province of Capiz, where MSMEs and key stakeholders gathered on July 29, 2026, at San Antonio Resort, Brgy. Baybay, Roxas City, for another milestone in DTI Region VI's regional roadshow.
Serving as the fourth provincial leg of the roadshow, the conference provided MSMEs with a dynamic platform to gain practical business knowledge, exchange experiences, and explore innovative and sustainable business strategies that strengthen the region's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In her welcome message, DTI 6 Acting Regional Director Mutya Eusores underscored the significance of celebrating National MSME Month and recognized the invaluable contributions of MSMEs in creating jobs, generating opportunities, and strengthening local economies. She emphasized that their determination and perseverance continue to inspire collective efforts toward a more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous Western Visayas.
The conference was further strengthened by Messages of Support from Engr. Fulbert Woo, Regl Governor of PCCI Region VI, Capiz Vice Governor James Magbanua; Ms. Syvil Grace Dueñas, representing Congressman Howard Guinto; and City Councilor Midelo Ocampo, representing Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.
A highlight of the conference was the Fireside Chat: "The Capiz Province Economic Agenda for MSME Growth," featuring Atty. Arthur John Biñas, Provincial Administrator, representing Governor Fredenil Castro, and moderated by Engr. Dale Bernas, President of JEFARELID Corporation. During the discussion, the Provincial Government of Capiz showcased its flagship programs that advance enterprise development and agricultural innovation, including the establishment of the Provincial Economic Development and Investments Office (PEDIPO) to strengthen local economic governance and enterprise support services. Through PEDIPO, the province has implemented various initiatives such as the Maragtas Pasalubong Center, a dedicated marketing hub for locally made Capiz products, and the enhancement of the Capiz Government Business Center, creating a more conducive environment for MSMEs. These initiatives, along with the province's other development accomplishments, reflect Capiz's continuing commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening local enterprises, and promoting inclusive economic growth.
The learning sessions continued with presentations from distinguished resource speakers, who shared valuable insights on Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Solutions for MSMEs, the Western Visayas Export Marketing Roadmap, and inspiring success stories from business leaders. The conference also engaged participants in the Workshop on Developing MSME Policy Solutions, fostering collaborative discussions that generated practical policy recommendations toward building a more resilient, innovative, and competitive MSME sector.
To our speakers, partners, participating agencies, exhibitors, and the MSMEs who joined us—thank you for making the Capiz Leg a resounding success.

Professional certification courses on facilities and construction management now accessible to Capiz professionals
ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Capiz Provincial Office welcomes the arrival of the University of the Philippines National Engineering Center (UPNEC) Training programs in Panay, bringing world-class engineering and management expertise closer to Capiz professionals.
In partnership with Circulo Hotel Inc. at the Pueblo de Panay Township, UPNEC is offering two professional certification programs designed for engineers, architects, facilities managers, project managers, and industry leaders. The Professional Certificate in Facilities Management will run from July 14 to 16, 2026, while the Professional Certificate in Construction Management (PCCM 1: Project Management in the Construction Industry) is scheduled for August 18 to 20, 2026. Both programs will be held at the Circulo Convention Center in Pueblo de Panay Township, Roxas City, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This initiative aligns with DTI-Capiz’s commitment to strengthening the province’s human capital and supporting the continuous professional development of local industries. By making these certification programs accessible in Panay, Capiz professionals can now acquire globally competitive skills without having to travel to Metro Manila.
DTI-Capiz OIC Provincial Director Merian Asas emphasized the significance of this development for the province's workforce. “The arrival of UPNEC training programs in Panay is a game-changer for our local professionals. This partnership opens doors for our engineers, architects, and project managers to earn world-class certifications right here in Capiz, enhancing their competitiveness and contributing to the province’s economic growth,” Asas said.
The UPNEC, through its Training Division, offers short courses, competency training programs, and tailored in-house seminars designed to meet industry demands. The two certification programs are part of UPNEC’s broader mission to provide accessible, high-quality professional education across the country.
DTI-Capiz Information Officer Marjorie Tendras noted that the initiative supports the province’s ongoing efforts to build a resilient and globally competitive workforce. “This is a concrete step towards elevating the capabilities of our local professionals. We encourage all qualified individuals to seize this opportunity and invest in their professional growth,” Tendras added.
Interested participants may reserve their slots by contacting +63917-312-1498 (Globe) or +63939-927-1447 (Smart), or via email at [email protected]. Limited seats are available.
