Today, August 12, 2026, the EDS team joined fellow PGAS employees for the Clean-Up Drive at the Provincial Government Center. Answering the call from the Office of the Provincial Governor, we brought our cleaning tools and spent the afternoon helping maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and proper upkeep of our Capitol premises.

Proud to do our part for a cleaner and greener Agusan del Sur! 🌱

Sa mabilis na pag-unlad ng teknolohiya at modernong panahon, patuloy nating pinapatunayan na ang wikang Filipino ay hindi naiiwan. Ito ay buhay, umaangkop, at nagsisilbing makapangyarihang kasangkapan sa pananaliksik, pagtuklas ng kaalaman, at pagbuo ng mas modernong sistema ng edukasyon. Sa tulong ng makabagong teknolohiya tulad ng Artificial Intelligence, mas napapadali ang ating pag-abot sa masaganang yaman ng impormasyon nang hindi nawawala ang ating pambansang pagkakakilanlan.

Sa patuloy na pagbabago ng mundo, ang pagmamahal, paggamit, at pangangalaga sa sarili nating wika ang pinakamagandang pamana na ating maiiwan sa susunod na henerasyon. Mahalin, payayamanin, at ipagmalaki natin ang wikang Filipino! 💙❤️💛

The Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, through the Educational Development Services, proudly celebrates another phenomenal achievement from our PGAS Scholarship Program! 🎓

We joyfully congratulate 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐚-𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐲 (Batch 2022) for officially handing in the hard copy of her doctoral dissertation. Dr. Calumbay earned her Ph.D. from the North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) – Tandag City Campus last July 4, 2026! 📜

Her rigorous and impactful research is titled:

Focusing directly on our home front across 46 public junior high schools in the Division of Agusan del Sur, Dr. Calumbay’s study used Structural Equation Modeling to prove that very high levels of teacher professional development and competence directly drive high student performance in science. Her statistically significant best-fit model provides a clear roadmap for sustained, targeted training initiatives, proving that investing in our educators' instructional competency is the key to elevating classroom outcomes and overall educational quality in the province.

Today marks a monumental milestone for the Educational Development Services and the entire Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur! 🎓

We are incredibly proud to receive the hard copy of the doctoral dissertation of Dr. Reynasol R. Butiong, one of our brilliant PGAS Scholars under the Doctorate Program (Batch 2017). She officially turns over her groundbreaking research:

Dr. Butiong’s journey to her Doctor of Philosophy degree is a profound testament to resilience. Starting her study in 2017, she faced various life challenges and circumstances that paused her academic pursuit, eventually leading her to work in China. But distance and time were no match for a true Agsurnon scholar’s determination.

Driven by an eager heart to finish what she started, she returned home to the Philippines. For Dr. Butiong, completing this dissertation isn't just a personal victory—it is her ultimate way of giving back to the Province of Agusan del Sur that believed in her potential from the very beginning.

Her qualitative multi-case study delves deep into the leadership practices, challenges, and coping mechanisms within the Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) Framework across four DepEd divisions in Caraga, including our very own Agusan del Sur. This vital research offers strategic insights to enhance leadership efficacy and shape policies that directly benefit our cultural communities.

Thank you, Dr. Reynasol, for showing us that no matter how long the journey takes or how far we roam, our roots and our dedication to service will always guide us home. Your PGAS family is immensely proud of you!

Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families (CoScho)

Academic Year 2026–2027

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office Caraga (CHED Caraga) is now accepting applications for the Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families (CoScho) for Academic Year 2026–2027.

This scholarship program provides a financial assistance package to qualified and deserving undergraduate students who are duly registered coconut farmers in the National Coconut Farmers Registry System (NCFRS) or their dependents.

Deadline of Submission: August 31, 2026

Who can apply?
✅ Duly registered coconut farmers in the NCFRS or their dependents
✅ Filipino citizens
✅ Graduating Senior High School students, Senior High School graduates, ALS graduates, or currently enrolled college students meeting the prescribed academic requirements
✅ Applicants with a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 80%
✅ Applicants whose parents have a combined annual gross income not exceeding ₱300,000.00

Only one qualified family member may be awarded at a time.

Education remains a vital pillar in building stronger communities, with the Local School Board playing a crucial role in planning, allocating, and overseeing the utilization of the Support to Education Fund (SEF). The SEF serves as an important resource in supporting the needs of the basic education sector, including school facilities, instructional resources, and the wages of teaching and non-teaching personnel.
As the dedicated office of the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS) for education-related services, Education Development Services (EDS) plays a vital role in developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and programs that strengthen the education sector.
During today's Department Information Officers (DIO) Hour, hosted by Community Affairs Officer II Rowena P. Noja, EDS personnel discussed the guidelines on the proper utilization of the SEF and emphasized its significance in supporting quality and accessible education for learners across the province.
