OFFICE OF THE PROVINCIAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT OFFICE ACTIVITY UPDATE | JUNE 1, 2026

At approximately 9:00 AM today, PDRRM Officer Armando R. Gomez, EMDRCM, participated in the Area Command Team (ACT) close-out meeting following the successful conclusion of Palarong Pambansa 2026.The session was presided over by ACT Commander Mark Gil P. Calang of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD). Ms. Josephine B. Ambongan, Provincial Administrator, attended on behalf of Governor Santiago B. Cane, Jr., the designated Responsible Officer (R.O.) for the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS). The primary agenda centered on reviewing the Event Summary and key Operational Highlights of the national sporting event.

May 29, 2026 | The PDRRMO personnel, led by Department Head Armando R. Gomez, PGAS Co-Chair of the Health and Emergency Response Committee for Palarong Pambansa 2026, conducted an inspection on crowd positioning and crowd management during the secondary games for Menโ€™s and Womenโ€™s Volleyball, as well as Basketball Boys.

The inspection was carried out in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and law enforcement personnel to ensure public safety, orderly crowd movement, and effective security operations throughout the event.
