๐—˜๐—”๐—ฅ๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—ง๐—ข๐——๐—”๐—ฌ | The Department of Trade and Industry โ€“ Agusan del Sur in partnership with the Local Government of San Luis successfully conducted the Youth Entrepreneurship Program-Be your own Boss (YEP-BYOB) from July 28 to 31, 2026, at the ZWMPC Pension House, Doรฑa Maxima, San Luis, Agusan del Sur.

The young Agsunons from San Luis successfully graduated after completing the four-day entrepreneurship training. Throughout the program, the participants gained valuable knowledge and practical skills in developing business ideas, understanding entrepreneurship, creating business models, and presenting their business concepts.

On the fourth and final day, the participants showcased their innovative business ideas through a Business Pitching Competition. They presented their business concepts before a distinguished panel of evaluators, with the following participants receiving recognition for their outstanding business pitches:

The program concluded with the closing remarks of Mr. Marson Jan S. Dolendo- Provincial Director of DTI Agusan del Sur who inspired the young participants to put the knowledge and skills they acquired into practice and confidently pursue their entrepreneurial goals.

EARLIER TODAY | Veruela MSME Development Week Continues with Business Resiliency, Financing and Market Access Forum

VERUELA, AGUSAN DEL SUR โ€” The Business Resiliency, Financing and Market Forum were focused this afternoon, July 31, 2026, as part of Day 2 of the Municipal MSME Development Week at the Multi-purpose Building of LGU Veruela, Agusan del Sur.

The afternoon session provided local entrepreneurs with practical information on preparing for business disruptions, improving business operations, and exploring opportunities for growth.

Alexis Paul U. Ancay, Market Specialist II of the Provincial Economic Enterprise Development Office (PEEDO), presented the importance of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) in preparing enterprises for potential disruptions and maintaining business operations. He is also introduced PEEDOโ€™s Livelihood and Enterprise Assistance Program (LEAP) as one of the support mechanisms available to AgSurnon entrepreneurs.

Charish Burdeos, SET UP Technical Staff of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), presented the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SET UP), which provides technology and technical assistance to MSMEs to improve productivity, product quality, and business operations.

Also, a Market Access Forum was featured, bringing local entrepreneurs closer to market opportunities and local business models.

Levie Kames B. Seno, Acting Supervising Tourism Operations Officer of the Provincial Tourism Office, presented the Bayoy Pahuwadanan Tourist Rest Area and Display Center, highlighting its potential as a venue for promoting and displaying locally produced products to visitors.

Maria Theresa F. Salindato, Secretary of the Integrated Producers Association of Agusan del Sur, shared the organizationโ€™s experiences and role in creating market opportunities for local producers.

Meanwhile, Jushua F. Casilas and Tevcarme M. Cabusas of Rean Meat Processing emphasized their support for local producers by consigning local products at Rean Meat Shop, which has branches across Caraga, following product quality assessment.

The session is part of the Municipal MSME Development Weekโ€™s efforts to provide entrepreneurs with access to information, government programs, technology, financing, and market opportunities that can support business resilience and sustainable growth.

VERUELA, AGUSAN DEL SUR โ€” The second day of the Municipal MSME Development Week in Veruela, Agusan del Sur, is held today, July 31, 2026 at the Multi-purpose Building of LGU Veruela. The dayโ€™s session focused on digitalization, innovation, financing, and market access, providing local entrepreneurs with information and tools to strengthen their businesses.

The morning sessions featured practical guidance on government services and digital platforms. Buhawe Corvera Correa, Field Office Head of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Agusan del Sur, provided local entrepreneurs with information on labor compliance and available assistance to help sustain businesses affected by economic disruptions through its DOLE Adjustment Measures Program (AMP),

Renato D. Angulo, Project Development Officer II of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Caraga presented the importance of Google Maps to improve MSME online visibility and help customers locate their businesses.

Meanwhile, Arnold M. Breviescas, Information Systems Analyst II, also of DICT Caraga, guided participants through the eLGU and eGovPH platforms, highlighting digital government services that can help simplify transactions and improve access to public services.

The afternoon sessions will focus on business resiliency, market access, and financing for innovation, giving MSMEs further opportunities to learn about strategies and support mechanisms that can help sustain and grow their enterprises.

The two-day MSME Development Week is being led by the Local Government Unit of Veruela through the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), in partnership with DTI Agusan del Sur, and other government agencies and stakeholders, providing local entrepreneurs with practical knowledge and access to programs and services for business development.

JUST IN | Veruela Forms Business Club to Strengthen Local Business Representation

VERUELA, AGUSAN DEL SUR โ€” The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Veruela has formally established the Veruela Business Club to represent local businesses and provide a platform for their concerns and interests.

Veruela Business Club was organized today, July 30, 2026, during the first day of Municipal MSME Development Week Celebration at the Function Hall, Multi-Purpose Building, Veruela, Agusan del Sur. Local business owners were organized and elected their officers to lead the newly formed organization.

The activity was led by the LGU Veruela through its Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), in coordination with the Agusan del Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (ADSCCIFI) and the DTI Agusan del Sur.

Veruela Business Club will serve as a venue for local businesses to raise common concerns, participate in discussions on business-related policies and programs, and advocate for initiatives that promote business growth and sustainability.

HAPPENING NOW | Veruela Holds First-Ever MSME Development Week Celebration

VERUELA, AGUSAN DEL SUR โ€” July 30, 2026 โ€” The Municipality of Veruela marked a milestone today as it officially launched its first-ever MSME Development Week Celebration, bringing together local entrepreneurs, government agencies, and business stakeholders for two days of learning, networking, and business development.
Led by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Veruela through its Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), the celebration is being held on July 30โ€“31, 2026, with the aim of strengthening the capacity, competitiveness, and sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the municipality.

The opening activity was graced by Rebecca C. Hampac, Executive Assistant IV/ Chief of Staff of LGU Veruela, SB members Hon. Eric P. Plaza, Hon. Raymon Jay C. Brigole, Hon. Elve M. Dela Cruz, and Hon. Jonito T. Mondejar, Rey S. Escriber, Community Affairs Officer of LGU Veruela, Dr. Rodel Maglunsod, Head of the Provincial Economic Enterprise Development Office (PEEDO), and Marson Jan S. Dolendo, Provincial Director of DTI โ€“ Agusan del Sur, who underscored the importance of collaboration among government institutions and the private sector in creating an enabling environment for local enterprises.

The first day of the celebration features sessions focused on enterprise sustainability, business development, and business compliance, equipping entrepreneurs with practical knowledge to strengthen their operations and build more resilient enterprises.

Meanwhile, the second day will focus on digitalization, innovation, financing, and market accessโ€”key areas identified as essential in helping MSMEs adapt to changing market conditions, improve competitiveness, access resources, and explore new business opportunities.

A key objective of the celebration is the establishment of a Business Club in the Municipality of Veruela. The initiative seeks to provide a platform where local entrepreneurs can connect, share experiences, collaborate, and collectively identify and address common business concerns.

Earlier today, the second day of the 2026 Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) โ€“ Be Your Own Boss (BYOB) in San Luis focused on enhancing the participantsโ€™ entrepreneurial knowledge and developing essential skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, customer engagement, and marketing.

The sessions covered Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving and Growing My Business One Customer at a Time, where participants gained valuable insights into identifying target customers, understanding the marketing mix, and developing effective marketing strategies. The participants also discussed the key components of the Marketing Mix, including People, Product, Price and Production, Channel, and Promotion, followed by a session on developing a comprehensive Marketing Plan.

The afternoon session featured a Talk with MSMEs, with Mr. Arnel Luar, a business owner from San Luis, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and valuable insights on effective business strategies. He emphasized the importance of proper planning, perseverance, adaptability, and understanding customers, particularly for young entrepreneurs who are starting and growing their own businesses.

Through these learning sessions and practical insights from local entrepreneurs, the YEP-BYOB continues to equip aspiring young entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to transform their business ideas into sustainable and successful enterprises.
