Early childhood education plays a crucial role in shaping a child's future, providing them with a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Recognizing this need, the Child Development Center Project is being implemented in two barangays in Agusan del Sur - Brgy. Napo, Prosperidad, and Brgy. Mahayahay, San Luis - to ensure that young children have access to quality early learning environments.

Project Overview
Funded by the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS) with a total allocation of PhP 5 million, the project is being implemented by the Justice, Peace & Integrity of Creation-Integrated Development Center, Inc. (JPIC-IDC, Inc.). The initiative aims to establish well-equipped learning centers that will cater to the educational and developmental needs of children in these communities. Each Child Development Center will have a standard dimension of 10.24 x 8 meters and will include essential facilities to support a conducive learning environment. These features include:
- A spacious classroom designed for interactive learning
- A kitchen to support child nutrition programs
- 2 comfort rooms for better hygiene and sanitation
- A sink for hand washing and hygiene purposes
- Teacherโ€™s furniture: 1 teacherโ€™s table and chair
- Pupilโ€™s furniture: 30 child-friendly chairs and 6 tables
- A bookshelf to encourage early reading habits
- A chalkboard for lesson demonstrations
- A playground with a slide, hammock, seesaw, and an additional sink to promote holistic child development through play
- Beyond Infrastructure: Capacity Building for Day Care Workers

Beyond constructing the physical structures, JPIC-IDC, Inc. is also investing in human capital by providing training for Day Care Workers.

This initiative ensures that educators are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively guide and nurture young learners. By enhancing the capabilities of childcare providers, the project guarantees that children not only have access to a quality learning space but also receive proper early childhood education and care.

Impact on the Community
The establishment of these Child Development Centers is a significant step toward improving early childhood education in the province. By creating safe, inclusive, and stimulating environments, the project will:
- Enhance learning opportunities for young children, preparing them for formal schooling Improve health and hygiene practices through well-designed facilities
- Provide better support for parents by giving them access to trained childcare professionals
- Strengthen community involvement in child development initiatives

Through this project, Agusan del Sur is making a meaningful investment in its children, recognizing them as the future of the community. By prioritizing early education and child-friendly infrastructure, the province is ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and succeed.
